Chapter 12

Starscream chuckled evilly, "A candidate would need to earn that post by making a strong case to said eyes and ears."

"A case for showing mercy, Lord Starscream?"

"You scratch my back... I scratch yours."

I still didn't look up, but my headphones exploded with voices about what I would do. I waited patiently until I could leave and head to Sound's room. When they finally left the room, I closed my computer, ending the call. I stuck it in my backpack and started to climb up the monitor.I was able to get inside the vents as my normal traveling area. I was to find Sound but couldn't leave the vent.

"Soundwave!" I yelled through the vent. He looked up, and I could tell he saw me. He released one of his tentacles and opened the vent, and grabbed me. He set me down and then closed the vent. I was about to tell him what Starscream and Knock Out were planning to do, but they called out for him.

"Soundwave. Knock Out has information about Lord Megatron." Starscream called out.

'Scrap.'

They came up to us, and Knock Out raised an eyebrow at me. I smiled evilly and said, "I have my ways of getting around."

We walked to the medical room in silence, but I didn't want to risk telling Sound anything about their plan. We stay like that until going into the room. Starscream started to speak, "Knock Out, if you would be so kind as to provide your expert medical opinion to Soundwave... for the historical record."

We made it all the way to Megatron's body, but Knock Out went towards the health monitor. To provide proof and better information.

"Simply put, unaided, Megatron could remain in this deathless slumber forever."

"Our master wanted to be seen this way, to stand idly by while he remains captive in his own body. It's not just."

Sound walked next to Starscream and pointed at the brain-wave actively.

"Brain-wave activity... not evidence of consciousness, but merely of an endless dream from which Megatron may never wake."

"Soundwave, we must face reality. Megatron is lost to us."

"The only honorable option would be to show him mercy."

"A simple throw of the switch."

"Quick, painless, compassionate."

I pulled out my phone to talk with Sound because he had to know what these were planning. Luckey Sound sent me a message to know that he wasn't going to let Megatron die that easily. He stood still for a moment; if I had to guess, he was thinking of a plan to keep him alive.

"Soundwave, do I take your silence to mean you concur with Knock Out's medical expertise?" Sound didn't show any type of reply, which was great in all, but we were running out of time. Starscream looked over at Knock Out, who just shrugged. Starscream wasn't going to even ask me, which I didn't care about.

"Speak now or forever hold your peace." Starscream reached up and grabbed the cable that was on Megatron's right leg. I could feel my heart racing. Starscream faced us again, "Going... going..." Sound raised his right arm and pointed at something, and it was... a cable?

'That shouldn't be there.'

Both Knock Out and Starscream looked over at the cable, and it was Starscream who investigated what it was. He grabbed it, and it led down into the side area, which is a place that I move about throughout the ship. Starscream went down and spoke, "What in... Intruders!"

'What?!'

I saw a blast that hit the main one on Megatron's chest, disconnecting it. There was a flatline going off. Sound walked up to him quickly, and Starscream joined up. Starscream sighed, "It was the inevitable outcome."

Sound marched right up to Starscream's face, and I thought that I was about to fall off because of the quick movement that he made to get into Starscream's face. He points towards Megatron, demanding him to be put back in his state that he was in. Starscream leaded back from the action that Sound gave.

"Ahh. Of course, it would be wrong to allow Megatron to perish by an Autobot's hand. Knock Out." Because of how close Sound was to Starscream, I could have sworn that I could see a fog march on his visor. Sound put his hand down when Starscream called out for Knock Out. Sound turned to face Megatron, and right at that moment, Knock Out was putting the cable back on him. The ringing stopped, and Starscream turned to speak to Sound.

"Better?"

Sound turned to face him and nodded his head to show that he was, and he started to leave the room. We were walking back to his room, and when he entered, he spoke.

"Midna, I am the eyes and the ears of the Decepticons, but I need you to be the eyes and the ears for me. Can you do that?"

"I would love to, and that means who saw what those two were playing, right?

"Yes. For the most part."
