Chapter 42

Harry POV

The drive was silent but it wasn't the awkward kind of silence. My hand was on the steering wheel while my other hand was intertwined with Jade's. I can feel her squeezing my hand from time to time and I bet she's already wondering where we are off to.

I turn the car's direction to the left side, heading to the place. We're already near and as seconds pass I was getting nervous and nervous but I know that this is the right thing to do. I was really desperate to tell her this and it's now or never.

I parked my car outside the dark place and I glance at Jade who was already staring at me.

"Harry, where are we?"

"Don't worry. It's not some haunted forest or something," I chuckle. "But there's a lake at the end of the forest. It's not that far, actually. It's just a 10-minute walk or less than that." I said.

"Fine." She groans.

"Fine." I wink and I'm not sure if I really saw her blushing.

I still remember that night when I quoted the movie The Fault In Our Stars, except that 'okay' is not our always, it's fine. I know, it's a really cheesy thing for a guy like me to quote from a movie but in love, there's no exceptions. It doesn't matter how things get cheesy, as long as you're telling the truth. Your true feelings.

We're already walking towards the lake and I have a blanket with me, for there we will sit and spend the night together. Our hands were still intertwined with each other and I'm loving the feeling.

As soon as we already arrive, I put the blanket on the ground and I sat there, watching the stars above. I felt Jade sat beside me as she leaned her head on my shoulder. 

The silence was defeaning. I wanted to speak but I don't know where to start. Damn it.

"Harry, what you did earlier was something..." She stutters.

"Something, what?" My hands were already sweating. Damn, I am really nervous.

"It's something beautiful." She said, as she kept her eyes on me. Those Bambi eyes that I learned to love since I was 11.

How come I just notice it now? I was falling for her but I was just too oblivious with my own feelings.

"Beautiful, huh? What do you mean?" I ask.

"I have two reasons, actually. Beautiful, because you really made a song for me and it's not something that I'll never forget when I get 60. Lol, no." She chuckles. "I would never, ever, ever, forget that because you made that for me and it's just so... sweet of you, Harry. Thank you so much." She said, as she leaned in, planting a kiss on my cheek. 

Well, I guess I'm lucky because its dark and Jade can't see me blushing.

"Well, what's your other reason? You said you have two, right?"

"Well, beautiful, because it came from you and you even sang it in front of a huge crowd just for me, and I love you for that." She grins.

I love you.

Well, she only meant that as a friend, Harry. 

"I would always do everything for my best friend." I grin.

"I know you always will." She said, as she nuzzle her face in my shirt.

"Harry?"

"Hmm?"

"You said that you're going to tell me something, right? That's why we're here." She said, lifting her face up as she stare right into me.
