Chapter 118

3rd POV

All the trees nearby were completely annihilated by Big Mom's attack. Luffy and the others were holding onto Kingbaum with all their might trying not to get blown away by the aftermath of her attack. When everything calmed down the group noticied that a fraction of Kingbaum's face was missing.
"She missed?!" Jinbe said surprised.
"Where's (__)!? Did she get blown away!" Ace asked worriedly. That's when everyone heard a heart-wrenching scream come from where Big Mom was.
"Ahhhhhh!!!!!"
"(__)!!!!"
"How did she get her?!!" Nami asked shocked.
"Don't tell me she blocked Big Mom's attack!?!!" Jinbe said shocked.
Earlier the second before Big Mom swung her sword, (__) jumped into the air so fast no one noticed. Using her swords she was able to push the attack away a little so it didn't hit her friends. Angry that someone blocked her attack Big Mom quickly grabbed (__) before she could escape. Big Mom crushed (__) in her tight grip so hard she couldn't help but scream.
"(__)!!" Ace yelled ready to go and save her but before he could Big Mom threw (__) body hard enough that she cracked the ground and made the earth shake.
"(__)!!!!!"
Ace was the first out of the group to make a move. He jumped down from Kingbaum and ran to the direction (__) was. Luffy and Sanji tried to follow but Jinbe quickly stopped then before they could jump away.
"Jinbe let me go I have to help her!!!" Luffy yelled.
"I'm not going to watch Big Mom kill her!!" Sanji yelled.
"Calm down and think both of you! Big Mom isn't going to kill her. All she wants right now is her wedding cake and she thinks we have it. That means she will chase us down until she gets it. She has no interest in (__) unless she gets in her way again."
"That doesn't matter. She's still alone out there where the Charlotte family can get her anytime!" Sanji yelled trying to break free.
"Ace is with her too remember! He won't let anything more happen to her. I can promise you that much."
"Jinbe is right Sanji, Luffy." Chopper said sadly.
"We wanna go after her too but if we head that way then Big Mom will follow us and that will be even worse for her. The best thing we can do is head back to the Sunny. (__) and Ace will join us there." Nami explained.
"Fine but if they take to long I'm going after them." Luffy said now calm.

*with (__)*

Ace finally found (__) at an open clearing. She laid within a large crater 10 meters wide and 6 meters down and her swords rested nearby. He slid down the crater stopping when he reached her. He moved her body up slowly as not to injury her anymore than she already was.
"Ace..."
"Don't say anything you're injured."
"I'm fine... we need to get going..."
"You sacrifice yourself too much." Ace said sadly as he moved her bangs a little bit. "If you keep this up you'll end up dead again."
"I'm not going to die... how about this. You promised me you wouldn't die so now I promise you I won't die." She said raising her hand slightly while extending her pink finger our. "It's our pinky promise. We're both going to live, together."
"That almost sounds like a proposal." Ace said chuckling a little.
"Just shut up and seal the promise."

After getting (__) out of the crater, Ace carried her on his back as he walked over to where the Sunny was.
"You're so warm! Makes me feel better already!" (__) said.
"Anytime you're chilly you can always come to me."
"Or Marco. He's warm too."
"No."
"Why not?"
"Because I'm better."
"You're so competitive." (__) said giggling. Then Ace stopped dead in his sensing something behind him.
"How many of them are there?" Ace asked not turning around.
"Umm, an army so a couple hundred. I count over 400." (__) answered as Ace gently set her on the ground. He turned around to face the large army of homies in front of him.
"What were they thinking?" Ace said smirking punching his hand as some fire spewed out. "If they really wanted to challenge me they would need more than that!"
"Ace! Don't take to long. We have places to be!"
"Right. Don't worry I'll make this quick." He said as the homies charged at him with their weapons. "Heat Haze!!!" A stream of fire shot out from his palms wiping out any homies in that direction. Ace went at the homies attack them with his fire. He continued on like that already wiping out more than half of their forces until one of the Charlotte family appeared.
"Stop. It's pointless. You're too weak to deal with him." Daifuku said.
"So you think you can beat me. Give it a try and see what happens."
Daifuku rubbed his hands on his stomach causing his genie to come out from his belt. The genie swung his spear at Ace multiple times but he dodged it no problem.
"Is that really all you got. Come on this is too easy." Ace said making Daifuku annoyed. The genie sped up his strikes but he was still unable to hit Ace. Ace finally attacked the genie with Fire Fist which he blocked with his spear.
"Firefly Light... explode!!"
The small green fireballs that floated in the air exploded around Daifuku and the homies leaving them injured.
"Now this should end it!" Ace said jumping into the air. He raised his hands above his head as he created a large ball of fire in his hand. "Great Flame Commandment: Flame Emperor!!!"
All of the homies including Daifuku were wiped out from Ace's powerful attack. The ground still burned on fire over the bodies off the wiped out homies.
"Nice job. Now let's go!" (__) said.
"I think I deserve a kiss for that don't you."
"I think you should hurry up and get moving. I heard lightening a short while ago."
"Fine." He said picking (__) bridal style. "You'll be okay right."
"Yes yes, now hurry up!"
"Alright!"
Ace speed through the forest as fast as he could to reach the Sunny. When they reached the Sunny it was covered in candy and everyone was on the ship but Pedro. Persopero had bound him in candy and Big Mom was walking closer and closer to the ship. Pedro had a row of dynamite tied around him and when he dropped his cigarette on it the rope began to burn until it exploded. The waves crashed against the candy holding the Sunny shattering it to pieces and Big Mom got caught into the explosion along with Persopero.
"Listen! You guys must go forward! One day you'll see how important it was to save Luffy and the others here and let them set sail!"
"PEDRO!!!!!!!!!"
"Pedro!!!!!" Carrot cried out.
"Stop Carrot!" Nami yelled holding her back.
"Let go of me! Let me get back to where Pedro was! Maybe he's still alive!!"
"No!! You saw that explosion. He saved us!! We've had no chance to survive up until now! You have to understand Pedro's reasoning! Please!"
"Nami! Do you see (__) or Ace?" Luffy asked.
"No, I can't see them through the smoke."
"We're right here Luffy," I said sadly.
"(__), Ace! You're alright!" Luffy said relived.
"(__). Please get off the ship. If you stop now I can convince Mama to save you." Katakuri said with a hint of sadness.
"I think you and I both know she's way past the point of forgiveness." I began sadly. Tears were threatening to break but I held them back. I looked into Katakuri's crimson eyes finding nothing but sadness in them. I could tell he was thinking the exact same thing that I was. After everything that happened here, it'll be a lot harder for us to see each other again.

*flashback*

I had just arrived at Whole Cake Island two days ago. I woke up facing Katakuri's face but instead of it being covered by his large scarf it was out for me to see. I couldn't help but stare at it. Honestly, it was hard to believe that someone could ever be so mean to him just because of his looks. I think he's perfect just the way he is. I would never want him to change but I know he doesn't see it that way. I started to gently trace his face with my finger. I wonder, does he feel trapped hiding away by a fake story all the time. Everyone expects him to be perfect but isn't that hard.
Suddenly his eyes shoot open staring into my (e/c) ones.
"Sorry, Katakuri. I couldn't help myself." I said pulling my hand away.
"It's okay. I don't mind but is something wrong? Do you want me to cover it up?"
"No!" I said quickly surprising him. "I was just thinking that's all. I don't mean to make you uncomfortable. I like you're face so I don't want you to hide it."
"Okay." He said blushing only slightly. "I'll order breakfast."
"Okay and I'll change." I said getting out of bed. I headed to the bath that was connected to the room. After soaking in the warm, relaxing water for a bit I got out changing into the outfit Katakuri gave me yesterday. I stepped out of the bathroom to find Katakuri just closing the door with a plate of food. He took off his scarf and sat down on the bed. He began eating away happily like a child and I couldn't help but giggle a bit. He has such a big smile when he eats, it's adorable. I took the free space next to him and he handed me a doughnut.
"Katakuri you know you have a really cute smile. It's like a child." I said making him stop eating and blush.
"I-I don't know what you mean." He said trying to act normal.
"Aww! I embarrassed you didn't I!" I laughed. "I'm sorry. I couldn't help myself."

*flashback over*

I won't see his face ever again, I won't be able to talk to him, I won't be able to eat with him or see his happy smile when he devours a doughnut. I won't see him at all. "I think this might be the last time we see each other again." I said smiling with my eyes closed to try and stop the tears. "Bye... Katakuri."
