Chapter 77 : Few final steps.

Third person point of view

" Is she your grandma ? " Elijah asked as they walked out of the building. " No. She just lives in this apartment. Her son lives in some other country and sends her money from there. They weren't willing to take her with them and let her be here. Like money can buy love ". Joshua said his voice dripping with sarcasm and continued. 

" We all just take care of her when we have time and spend time with her whenever possible. She is really sweet though. She used to give candies to all the kids and whenever my parents were busy, I used to go stay with her ". Elijah nodded. " That's really nice ". Joshua smiled. They continued to walk and Elijah just followed Joshua. 

Joshua walked out of there onto the street. " Where to now ? " Elijah asked falling in step with Joshua. " Park ". They walked little more and a park came into view. Joshua smiled when he saw it. They just walked around and saw children playing and running around. " You used to come here t play too ? " 

Joshua nodded. " I used to play here a lot when I was a kid. My parents brought me here in the evenings. Even now I always come here whenever I come home. It feels good to walk around here ". Elijah nodded. It felt good and new to know more about Joshua. They walked around in silence and sat down on a bench under the shade. 

Joshua took a deep breath and smiled closing his eyes. His hair fluttering to the breeze and he looked beautiful. The sun rays falling from between illuminated his face. Elijah smiled looking at Joshua. He took out his phone taking a few photos of Joshua. Joshua turned to Elijah, the smile still lingering on his lips.

" What are you doing ? " Joshua asked raising his hand to cover his face. " Why ? I just want to take some. Don't block it ". Elijah said still clicking pictures. Joshua let Elijah take a few and took some of Elijah in return. They walked around for some more time and went back home when it got dark.

The next day, Joshua went to his mom who was in the kitchen. " Mooooom~~~ " " Did anyone tell you I turned deaf ? " Joshua rolled his eyes. " No. Shall we go out today ? " She turned around and gave him his cup of milk. " Where ? " " We will have lunch and then a movie maybe ? " She shook her head. 

" Why~~ ? " Joshua complained. " What would we do coming along with you two ? You both should go and enjoy ". Joshua huffed. " I - " His mom cut him off. " Just decide quickly so that I will know how much to cook ". Joshua groaned. " Fine. Do whatever you want. We will go out and be back by dinner ". 

She nodded. " Have fun ". Joshua went to his room and woke Elijah up. Both of them dressed up and left the house. They decided to get some lunch first. Joshua was the guide for Elijah around the place. So he followed whatever Joshua said. " There is a restaurant nearby which is famous for the native tastes. Let's go there ". 

Joshua took Elijah there and they both enjoyed the food. " It is really tasty. Will they tell me the recipe ? " Joshua laughed. " Why will they tell you ? " Elijah sighed. " True. I should maybe search it up later ". They then went to a theater and watched a movie. After that they went around a few streets looking at a lot of things. 

They were done with their day and were walking up the stairs to go back home. Joshua was swinging their hands which were interlocked. " It feels so good like this. Nothing to worry about nor to think about ". Joshua said with a small smile. " Me too. It feels really nice to stay like this ". Elijah said and Joshua nodded.

The next day, they had a bus back in the afternoon. They had lunch and then left for the bus station. The sky was pitch black by the time they reached home. Joshua ordered food when they were on the way. It was delivered not more 5 minutes after they reached home. They finished dinner, took a shower and fell asleep.

Joshua went to work as usual the next day and went back home in the evening. He sat down on the couch with a heavy sigh. " How was it ? " Elijah asked turning to Joshua. " I am not going to take a leave again ". Elijah laughed. " By the way, what do you plan on doing with all the information ? " Joshua shrugged. 

" I want to give it all to Mr. Simon. Then it is up to him. He can handle it however he wants. They are his family nonetheless. So I don't think it is my place to judge them or get them caught ". Elijah nodded. " You are so wise ". He shook Joshua's head. Joshua smiled. " When will you give it then ? " 

" I actually was thinking of this too. So I inquired if I can find time to meet him. But I heard he isn't going to come to the office for a few days. So I decided to give to him directly. Most likely, I will ask for permission during work hours and go give it to him at his house ". Elijah nodded. " Okay ". Joshua nodded.

Joshua went to office with all the things he obtained as evidence, in his bag. He worked for a while as usual. He checked the time and felt he can go then. He asked Brian if he can go for 3 hours and got it granted. He texted Elijah about it saying he was going there now and give them all to Anthony. 

Elijah checked the text and put his phone aside after replying with an ' okay '. He looked up at the old man sitting in front of him. " What is this for ? " The old man asked with a smile. " I just wanted to come here. It has been too long since I came to this house ". The old man nodded. " Will you stay for lunch then ? " Elijah nodded. " Sure ".

I also discussed with my BR about my new book that I want to release later this year. We came to a few conclusions and a kind of a plan. And both of us are going to try working on it. Hopefully we succeed. 😂
