I yawned stretching my arms high above my head. Looking to my left to only notice my boyfriend gone. Matthew must of already went downstairs.

Shuffling my feet across the hardwood floor, my dog Kylie came running in excitedly. "Hey baby", I spoke with a baby voice as I peppered her with kisses. Kylie barked wildly as she licked my face with her slobbery wet tongue.

I laughed beginning to walk downstairs to get her some food. At the bottom of the stairs I saw Matt opening the door to leave. "Hey babe where are you going?", I called fixing the sweater I was wearing around my shoulder.

"Oh I was just going to hang with the guys. Maybe make a video or something!", he stopped turning around to look at me.

I felt my stomach drop to my feet and my mouth go dry. Did he really forget our two year anniversary? "Oh okay I guess I'll see you later!", I spoke in sort of a trance.

"Love you Y/N!", he pecked my cheek quickly, before he was out of the door.

I stared at the door as I sat down on the stairs. I couldn't believe it. How did he forget? We've been practically talking about it for the past month.

I will not cry. You will not cry Y/N. I blinked giving myself a pep talk. This is nothing to cry over. If anything I should be furious with Matthew right now. I stood up walking into the kitchen to make myself something to eat and watch my favorite morning show Ellen. She was honestly hilarious.

I poured myself a bowl of Cheerios before walking over to the fridge to get milk. "Are you frickin serious!?", I yelled slammed the door shut. "No god damn milk?!", I shouted losing my temper.

I stomped over to my bowl deciding to eat it without milk. As I sat down to watch Ellen the doorbell rang causing Kylie to jump off the couch, knocking my bowl off my lap in the process.

"Fuck", I swore throwing the spoon on the floor with my Cheerios. I groaned rubbing my temples as the doorbell kept ringing and ringing. "I'm coming!", I spat opening the door with rage in my eyes.

There stood my best friend Cameron smugly grinning, that is until he saw how mad I was. "What's wrong?", he expression dropped into a serious more concerning look.

"It's nothing", I lied looking down at my feet so I wouldn't have to look him in the eyes.

"Y/N... Beautiful what's wrong?", he whispered walking into my house, leading me to the living room.

"Ugh! That dickhead forgot our anniversary!!!", I shouted pulling away from Cameron's grasp.

"Really? How do you know?", he asked rubbing circles on my back.

"First off he didn't wait in bed with me this morning like usual! Second when I was going downstairs he was leaving! Third I asked why and he said "I'm going to hang with friends and make videos!!!! Like you seriously forgot about our anniversary?! Ugh!!!!!! I hate him so much!", I let out a deep breath before hiding my face into the crook of Cam's neck.

"Let me have a talk with him", he clenched his jaw with anger.

"No please don't! I need to figure it out myself!", I cried pleading him not too.

"Really Y/N? I can end this easily", he stood up cracking his knuckles.

"Cameron stop! I need to talk about it with Matt", I hissed at him.

He rolled his eyes before falling back onto the couch. I sighed mentally thanking the lord before sitting next to him. We decided to watch movies all day and laugh. It felt better being with Cameron, but I wanted Matt.

"Okay I'm tried of you mopping around. Go get changed and then we will go somewhere fancy for dinner!", Cameron spoke sternly as he pushed me upstairs.

"Fine...", I sighed knowing I couldn't argue with him.

I walked upstairs and decided to straighten my hair and wear the maroon dress that was going to be for our anniversary. For makeup I just put on mascara to make my eyes pop a little. I was never a fan of makeup. Lastly I slipped on black heels, which was a good thing considering I am only 5 foot.

I began walking down the stairs slowly looking at the pictures of Matt and I on the wall. My favorite one was the picture of us when we went camping. We were both looking at one another smiling and my friend took a picture. It was honestly one of the best weekends I ever had.

"Are you ready?", Cam smiled at me from the bottom of the steps.

"Yeah I'm ready", I mumbled following him out to his car. It was a hot, sunny day in California and it sucks I spent most of it inside.

Cameron and I were quite throughout the car ride, but not in an awkward way. More in a peaceful way. Finally we arrived at a beautiful restaurant called Sophia's.

"Cam you really don't have to do this", my mouth fell open as we walked in and there was a giant glass chandelier hanging from the ceiling.

"Oh but I do", he smiled at me.

I shook my head ignoring everything as my eyes wondered around. The place was so colorful in gold, silver, and glass sculptures. It was honestly breath taking. Cameron and I followed the waiter back into the building. We were seated in the corner with flowers and candles.

"Cam you didn't have too", my voice cracked.

"Hey if Matt isn't going to do anything for your anniversary, I will", he shook his head before looking at the menu.

I smiled lightly before feeling my eyes begin to water. Tears slid down my face as I tried to wipe them away, but I couldn't stop. I finally cracked.

"What's wrong?", Cameron looked at me with wide eyes.

"This was suppose to be me and Matt. This was suppose to be our special evening", I cried more as tears slid down my cheeks.

"But it is babe", I heard a deep raspy voice say from behind me.

I snapped my head around to see my boyfriend in a black suit with a bouquet of roses. "Did you really think I forgot our anniversary", he smiled wiping my tears away.

I stood up embracing Matt into a tight hug. "I love you so much Matthew!", I cried connecting my lips to his.

"I love you too", he mumbled though my lips as we kissed.

I lightly placed my hand on the side of his face as I kissed him with longing. He smiled placed a hand on my hip squeezing it reassuringly.

"Babe there is something I've been meaning to ask", he pulled away looking me in the eyes.

"What is it?", I pouted wishing he didn't pull away. I honestly just wanted to kiss him forever. I felt so safe in his arms.

"Will you marry me?", he spoke nervously as he went down on one knee.

I covered my mouth in shock as I shook my head yes. He smiled as I began to cry with happiness before Matt pulled me into another hug.

"I love you babe. And can't wait to spend the rest of my life with you", he whispered in my ear causing me to shiver.

And that was a sour, sweet surprise kinda day.
