Zuri's POV

"C'mon Kai don't be a wimp." This is what I've been telling Kai since he came over and found out that his crush or should I say secret admirer or love, Azzy lives under the same roof as me.

"Rejection Zuri, rejection that's what I'm afraid of."

"You wouldn't know what you're missing until you make a move." I told him, putting on the necklace Lui gave me for Christmas before taking the phone from the vanity table where I had place it when I applied make up to hide the scar on my forehead.

Bringing it to my ear, I spoke into it. "Shoot your shot and stop being your own enemy. You can't stop yourself from being with the one you love if you're afraid of rejection. Life is all about taking risks, you're a business man so you should know better."

"This isn't business Zuri, this is life. Love life and any little rejection is going to shatter me forever, I can't take that risk."

I searched around the room for my car keys, after minutes of searching, I found it on Zulu's blanket on the couch.

"What if inside that risk is your eternal happiness? The very thing you so desire for huh? Won't you still take it?"

"Zuri--"

"Stop being a wimp and confess the damn feelings already, call me when you're ready." I hanged up the call though he was still talking.

I know that was rude but his lack of confidence was saddening especially when I knew something that could boost it but I can't tell him.

My little talk with Azzy in the kitchen after dinner the day he was here confirmed my thoughts. Azzy revealed to me she has feelings for Kai but wasn't sure about it since it hasn't been long she started working for him.

And just like Kai, she doesn't want to say it because she isn't sure if he likes her back, their relationship is mostly boss and assistant though he sometimes tries to go beyond that. She thinks he is only being friendly and doesn't want to think too deeply into it and start getting ideas.

I didn't tell her about how Kai felt neither did I tell him. I figured it wasn't in my place to tell them both so I zipped it but I can help them, you know give them the push to blurt out their feelings for each other and I'm going to start with Azzy who isn't so sure about it.

Speaking of the witch, she came right through the door. A bright smile on her face as she took in my appearance, "my girl is looking bomb."

"Such flattery ain't getting you nowhere, what's so bomb about bermuda shorts with a crop top?" I smiled, asking her that.

She waved her hand dismissively, her lips curving into a genuine smile. "I wish you could see yourself in my eyes and Lui's because I know he is definitely going to love it."

"Yeah yeah and speaking of Lui, I gotta go. He's gonna touch down very soon and I don't wanna be late." Checking the time on my phone, I realized it was 11:25am. Though he said he's gonna he here by noon, I don't want to be late and keep him waiting.

"Okayyy."

"Don't forget to check on the food or I'll come for your throat if burns." I threatened her, stabbing my fingers at her playfully as I said each word.

"All clear sis." She raised her hand in surrender, escorting me to the front door and opened it, "and Zu?"

"Yeah?"

"Please take extra care and be safe." Her playful expression was gone and replaced with worry, fear and slight anger. Her eyes slightly blazed but dimmed.
