Ch.3 Her teammates

Normal POV

The bell rings as Miyuki packed her bag and swings her duffel bag over her shoulder and heads out the door. She wasn't sure where she was going since she didn't have any friends. It was lunch and she just came from the Painting class. Other than volleyball, she loves to paint as a hobby. She went to a picnic table by a cherry blossom tree. 

She was hungry and ate alone after getting food from the cafeteria. She takes off her mask and looked up at the tree. She hums and takes a picture of it before eating some fruit sandwiches. She then hears people approaching her and looked up to see 2 girls. 

"Hello, Miyuki-san." The short girl bowed as the other bowed too. Miyuki realized it was her teammates. Shizuka, her 3rd year Libero and her younger sister Seika, 1st year Middle Blocker. She nods to them. 

"Hi, Zuka-senpai. Seika-chan." Shizuka places her lunch and sits down in front of Miyuki who puts her bags next to her. Seika does the same and sits next to her sister. Miyuki was still shy because of her new surroundings but she was glad to see her teammates. 

"Miyuki-san," Shizuka asks. "Why are you here alone?" Miyuki looks up from eating. 

"It's peaceful." She blinks and points up. "There in full bloom." Seika stares in awe as Shizuka smiles. 

"It's lovely but still yet." Shizuka pressed on. "Wanna come with us to the gym?" When she said gym, Miyuki looked at her as her eyes lit up. 

"It's open?" 

Seika giggles at Miyuki's cuteness before standing up. "Of course. Most of the team is going to be there." 

Miyuki puts on her mask and picks up all of her things. Shizuka smiles. 

"That's our Ace."

As they head to the their gym, people watched as Miyuki's walking with their Women's Volleyball team. Especially their popular classmate Shizuka who's famous in the Volleyball Monthly Magazine. She didn't hear them clearly but she knows that they are talking about her, the way they look at her and turn to their neighbor. 

"What's she doing with Shizuka-senpai?" 

"Does she play volleyball?" 

"Can't be, she doesn't look like an athlete." 

She furrows her brows and returned each stare with her usual RBF but the people doesn't know since her eyes are the only thing they see. 

Shizuka pats her shoulder. "Don't mind them." Miyuki shrugs. 

"It's fine, people just judge books by their cover." Shizuka frowns as she was a worried Senpai. She hopes Miyuki wouldn't be depressed or having an emotional breakdown. 

They passed the boys gym and notice that people were playing volleyball. Miyuki passes the door and looked inside. She then makes eye contact with a certain someone from her class as he was sitting on the bleachers watching a game of 3 on 3 between his teammates. He looks at her but Miyuki looked away as she walks to their gym next door. 

She went inside last as the gym started to get louder. 

"Zuka!" Kairi, the captain and the Middle Blocker of the team shouted as it looked like they needed players for a game of 5 vs 5. 

Kairi went up to them and notice Miyuki. "Hey, Miyuki-chan wanna play?" Miyuki takes off her mask and smiled. 

"Of course." She takes off her jacket and puts on the school's green sweater above her white dress shirt. She puts her hair into a low braid as a few strands of her bangs sticks to her forehead. While she was doing that Kairi and the vice-captain, Mai chooses their players. 

"Miyuki!" Kairi yells and smiles while Mai pouts because she wanted to practice on setting her Ace but Kairi sticks her tongue out at her. 

Miyuki smiles at her senpais' interaction as she joins Kairi. She high fives whoever Kairi chooses and then gets pumped up. If anyone from outside sees what she's like, they would be blown away that the girl with icy blue eyes isn't mean, she's just loves to play volleyball and opens up when it comes to playing. 

Her teammates were cheering as they know this is going to be a fun game. Kairi then calls out before Aratani, 1st year Pinch Server/Defensive Specialist was to serve. 

"Playing up to 25! Team to lose will be cleaning the gym after practice!" Mai whines but then claps in order to boost her team's morale. 

"Bring it!" Mai said. 

"Serve it to me!" Aratani's best friend, Hekima yells to her with her arms spread out. Aratani knows she a good Libero so to make her irritated she serves her senior Fumiko whose a Wing Spiker. Mai sets it to Seika from the right as Miyuki and Kairi went up to block her. Seika spikes an off speed one as Shizuka dives for it. Namika sets the ball to Miyuki as she does her approach. 

Seika and Hina went up to block her but she hits the ball off of Hina's hands. Hina saves it but it was a chance ball for Miyuki's team but quickly she slams it down in the ten with the snap of her wrist. Kairi covers her mouth as jumps to what happened. Actually, everyone did as they all were fired up now. 

"That was so cool!!" Hekima exclaims to her upperclassman as Miyuki just smiles. 

"I'm getting excited." She smiles as her eyes lit up. Kairi and Shizuka smiles as the team fully accepted her as one of them since she came from America. Some girls had trouble because of her appearance and vibe she got off but when she plays volleyball or steps into the gym, 

They are feel a vibe. Not the chilly and icy one, but a good and positive vibe of being aggressive and competitive. The 3rd years notice that this is what they need for an Ace. 

They nickname her their Icicle but other teammates call her Yuki Tsuki. Miyuki likes anything that they call her since she thinks it's really cool but her former teammates in America used to call her Sapphire since they couldn't pronounce her name correctly. 

Her team however sometimes call her Safaia (Sapphire) when she scores a kill or make an awesome play. Miyuki would smile and curls her right hand into a fist and looked dangerous on the court.
