Sakusa's POV

School in Beautiful Snow's absence made me sick. It feels like I'm in Middle school again.

All the germs of fangirls every hour and step I took in school. Komori asked me about Beautiful Snow every single day.

"She wanted privacy." I told him. "I'm giving it to her."

"Sakusa, she misses you. Why don't you go to her house?" He suggested.

"Hmm, no." I lowered my eyes to my gloved hands on the desk. Turning my head to her empty chair. "She needs to recover. I don't want to make her concussion worse than it already is."

"Well maybe you should text her?"

"No." I said, repeating it softly as I gave him the idea that I don't want to speak anymore.

"Hey look!" Our vice-captain called us over in our locker room. "We're in the magazine."

I sprayed my locker, hearing the noises of all my teammates. It'll get crowded so I'll wait until everyone's done looking. Or even getting one from Komori.

"Sakusa, Miyuki's here too." Komori announced as I twisted my head to them. The others made way for me to see as some were commenting on the Girls in general. I told him to read out loud so everyone can hear. It turned out to be a speech where everyone went back to their locker while Komori read on.

"After the Boys' surprising defeat by Inubushi East High School---"

My teammates groan as I sitting on the sanitized bench while listening on. Komori paused as the first years were talking about the title of the article:

Upset Defeat in Quarter Finals!?

"#1 Captain, Tsukasa Iizuna: 3rd year Setter goes down with an ankle injury in the 2nd set of the match---losing by 25-20. Itachiyama battles out in the 3rd set but came up short: 29-27. Making this one of a surprising upset besides Inarizaki whom lost in the 2nd round against the underdogs of Miyagi: Karasuno High School (see pg. 15)."

I hummed to myself as the team was reflecting on our game. Coach should be here any minute to have a meeting. Our Vice-captain gestures for Komori to read on as the article had the girls in it which made everyone listen in again.

"The Girls were determined to win for the Boys as they head on into the Semi Finals. #10 Miyuki Shimotsuki: 2nd year Wing Spiker, AKA Foreign Ace, performed amazingly well even if it's her first time in both National tournaments this season. When she heard of the Boys losing, she had a few words to say that motivated her and the team."

"It sucks for champions to lose but then again, every team from last year has at least tasted defeat."  Shimotsuki states after winning against Sakiko in 3 sets, capping out with 41 kills, 1 block, and 2 aces. "it makes me more motivated. To leave everything on the court before my time is up. For my teammates, myself, Itachiyama, and for Sakusa. Accidents happen. It's unpredictable which can be more frustrating than ever but I know that next year, and the year after that, both teams of Itachiyama will be strong."

"Hell yeah!!" We all looked at the 1st years who rose up after Komori read what Beautiful Snow said.

I personally asked to stay behind. I didn't want to go back to the hotel. I did shower though. I ain't watching Beautiful Snow in a sweating jersey. Ew. Komori tagged along to and we were both standing over the Girls. Inside, I felt at ease when watching Beautiful Snow spike or seeing her cheer every point. I knew she was looking tired. I was so worried about her passing out because she was breathing hard after every point. When I find out she wins for the whole team, my lost didn't matter. I already felt like she was victorious for me. I felt proud of her. I couldn't stop smiling behind my mask.
