Empty mind

Tommy didn't know what to do with himself for most of the days he was forced to stay home and recover. After three days, he already mesmerized the apartment he was currently living in, found some interesting hiding spots, swapped all the paintings and pictures and even moved the furnitures in his room to different places. All, with wings still bandaged to his back and with still broken but healing arm. So naturally, being the little gremlin he is, Tommy manages to find some things he viewed as interesting and pike them up in his room right behind the clothes in the closet.
And as much as he hated to admit it, he began to miss Aizawa. Well, maybe not the man himself but the feeling of someone being in the house. Quiet, but present.
Sure, he found himself spending most of his free time with Hawks who oddly seemed to keep him going and keep him sane. But he couldn't help but feel unsure. Almost as if someone was watching him from behind, get everytime he turned around no one was there.

Maybe it was because of the nightmare he had and the small note with a smile that seemed to hunt him. Or maybe it was because he couldn't help but think about his home. The one that he left by dying by his abuser. Where he left all his friends, or more like allies. Could he still call them his friends? Were they even his friends in the beginning? Because now he wasn't so sure. He hadn't see them for a long time and there was a feeling that told him they weren't even looking for him. Why should they bother with something like that? It would simply get their hands dirty and do no good.
It was easier to just forget about him and move on. Just like everyone else.

And suddenly, he felt like going out on a walk. In his current state maybe it wasn't the best choice, but hey! Who as going to stop him?
He picked his phone up and quickly dialed Hawks number, waiting for a moment.

"Hello?"

Tommy let the small smile slip, as he cleared his throat.

"I just wanted to let you know I'm going out for a walk. In case you want to join me, or something" Tommy said.

Hawks hummed, silent for a second.

"Sorry, but I can't today. I was about to call you and  and tell you that I won't be able to visit you today. The day is busy and we have extra work to do"

If Tommy felt slightly disappointed, he pushed it down his chest and nodded, even if the other male couldn't see it.

"Right, I understand. I will see you tomorrow?"

A happy chirp reached his side of the call and he had to stop himself from responding.

"Sure kid! I will call you later to check up on you. Be careful and text me if something's wrong!"

"Alright. Bye"

Tommy turned his phone off when the call ended and put it in his back pocket, before looking in the mirror that hung on the wall. Wearing a black hoodie with some oversized trousers seemed good enough as he lazily put on his shoes. With that being done, he took the keys off of the counter and headed towards the doors. He slipped outside, using his feet to close the doors and swiftly turning the Kay till he heard the familiar click! With a satisfied smile, he moved to leave and breath in the still cool but fresh air. As much as he enjoyed the morning weather, it was a little colder than it was supposed to be, so he only pulled the hood over his head and skipped towards the main street. With music blasting in his ears and careful eye, he walked mindlessly around.

As he approached his favorite restaurant with many different types of soups and snacks, he couldn't help the urge to go in and order something small. There's nothing better than a bowl of tasty Miso Soup.
And he still remembered the first time when Hawks decided to just order whatever was at the menu. Saying it was a lot was put too lightly.
