Oh, there is going to be so much angst from now on.

Looking up at the tall building, the damage was clear as the sky and it would take not only a blind but also a deaf person to not notice that something was wrong. With fire raging in the background, smoke reaching the sky and windows shattered it looked like a natural disaster took place where the hospital stood.
People crowded outside of it, yelling, crying and praying. The building was greatly damaged to the point where not only police was there to secure it and keep people away in case it collapsed but also a few heroes showed up and examined the situation.

It was a shocking sign to anyone who came across it and set their eyes upon it, how quickly the place changed in less than half an hour. Glass laying everywhere, ground burned and flames surrounding the back of the hospital. The fire was huge, easily reaching the top of the hospital and growing even bigger as it spread. Heroes worked quickly to put it out, struggling to do so as the flames quickly devoured the ground and whatever wood it came across.

The strangest thing were the huge and thick blue vines climbing the walls of the hospital and spilling over the roof and on the ground. They didn't seem to catch on fire, only grew over the hospital and reflected the sun. Where it came from was a mystery, no signs of any quirk user that could potentially do this.
The Heroes looked for any clues while managing the distressed crowd full of people and the personel running around, yet they weren't as successful as they would like to be. Looking for a villain would prove fruitless too, because why would the villain stay for so long in one place? While people came to a conclusion it wasn't the most important thing right now and they worried about any patients that could get hurt during the whole situation, the Heroes had to their job. Yet it was hard to focus when people were yelling and creating an even bigger mess.

It surely didn't help to calm down one Pro Hero in perticular.

As soon as Hawks ended his shift and was dismissed, he took out his phone to call Tommy with a smile on his face. Oh how relieved he was to end the mission earlier than they thought it would.
He picked the number and waited for it to connect him with Tommy, flying through the air and observing the ground beneath him.

Ring..

Ring...

Ring....

Ring..-

He frowned when the call ended, worry settling in as he stared at the phone in his hand. Wordlessly, he tried one more time and then another when it also ended, leaving him with no answer. Was Tommy mad at him?

"Oh Tommy.. why aren't you picking up?" He asked himself quietly, putting his phone away.

Not knowing what to do, Hawks slowed down his flight a little and stared ahead, watching the clouds move across the sky slowly. For the first time in years, he wasn't sure what to do.
Unconsciously, his body tipped to the right and he changed the direction he was going in, heading for the hospital that Tommy was supposed to leave today. His wings moved softly with the wind, carrying him high in the air away from prying eyes. Drips of rain falling from the sky and landing on his skin softly, cooling him down a little. It felt nostalgic all of a sudden, this flight. It reminded him of all those late night flights he would go on with Tommy, preferably when it was warm enough to fly as long as they wished, till the early morning the next day. They would travel slowly, enjoying the comfortable silence that hung over them and the quiet sound of their wings on the wind.
He smiled at the memories, looking up over the buildings.
