"Hey, what's going- What happened Lyss? Are you okay?" I ask as soon as I walk into my room.
Lyss is sitting on my bed with tears streaming down her face and her fists clenched.
"No Cole, I'm not fucking okay." She mutters.
"What happened?"
"Let me ask you something Cole and for once in your goddamn life, be fucking honest with me." She spits.
"What-"
"Am I a fucking bet?" She asks.
My world stops and I stop breathing.
"Alyssa I-"
"Fuck you, Cole." She says and frantically begins to grab her stuff.
"No, wait Alyssa! Please listen to me." I beg and reach out for her.
"Fuck you! And don't put your fucking hands on me!"
"Alyssa!" I yell as I quickly block my doorway so she can't leave.
"If you don't move in the next five seconds, I will jump out of the fucking window."
The scary part, I know she's not kidding.
"Please just listen to me."
"There is nothing you can say that could possibly make me hate you less."
"I know and trust me when I tell you I fucking tried everything to get out of this bet!"
"Trust you?! Are you fucking kidding me right now!" She scoffs.
"I know you have every right not to but I swear I'm telling you the truth!"
"Bullshit! How could anyone make a fucking bet like that! I mean not only were you gonna break my heart but you were gonna take my virginity too?! Who does that?"
"I wasn't thinking when I made the bet, I was just thinking about baseball-"
"Was- was any of it real?" She asks, her voice cracking.
My heart breaks at the sight.
"Of course it was!"
"Bullshit Cole! I fucking hate you!"
"Butterfly please-"
"DON'T CALL ME THAT! Oh my god, and after all the shit I told you about my brother and- and about all the other shit I went through! Were you gonna use that against me too?"
"NO! I would never do that!"
"Funny because I don't believe a single thing that comes out of your mouth! I mean if your brother could do it, you sure as fuck can too! And I fucking let you release my brother out of jail...was that how you were gonna have me forget about the fact that I was a bet! Hey, I helped your brother get out of jail, now you can't be mad at me for using you!" She screams.
