(Before I start off the epilogues, it's important to note that they all take place in the far future meaning they've finished college, they're married, and they have kids)

I was in the middle of a peaceful slumber until I heard a couple of pairs of tiny footsteps run over to my room, open the door, and crawl onto the bed.

I slowly open my eyes and come face to face with my boys.

"Dad, wake up! We have to surprise mommy!" My youngest son Jameson whisper yells.

I look over to my left and find Lyss snuggled up to my side.

"I'll be right there, go get everything ready," I whisper.

They both giggle before jumping off the bed and running back out into the hall.

I look down at my wife before reaching down and moving some hair out of her face.

She mumbles a few things in her sleep before her eyes flutter open.

Shit.

"Good morning." She mumbles with a sleepy smile.

"Good morning butterfly."

"Did I hear the boys?" She asks.

"No."

Suddenly we hear something fall to the floor and Lyss looks at me with a raised brow.

"They want my help to surprise you for your birthday. They want to make you breakfast in bed." I explain.

"Aww, that's so cute."

"Yes, so make sure to act surprised," I say as I get out of bed and throw on a shirt.

Life has been pretty fucking great over the last few years.

Once Lyss and I graduated college, I went to med school and Lyss decided she wanted to become a vet so she went to veterinary school.

I surprised her with a trip to Greece once she finished school and I proposed to her there.

We had a pretty small and intimate wedding with all our friends and family.

It wasn't long after that when she got pregnant with our oldest son Kade and a couple of years later she had our other son Jameson.

Kade is 6 and Jameson is 4.

They're the perfect mix of Alyssa and me.

If I were to tell high school Cole that he would be married, have a well-paying job, and have two sons, he would slap me across the face and laugh.

When I make my way into the kitchen, the boys are already sitting on the counter while the ingredients for chocolate chip pancakes are sitting on the counter.

Chocolate chip pancakes are a tradition our family has any time it's anyone's birthday.

The boys love it.
