Yoongi's POV -

Ever since I was a teenager, I've had something called hyperthyroidism. It's caused by an autoimmune disease called Grave's disease, where essentially my immune system attacks my thyroid, and causes it to be hyperactive. It came on so suddenly I got quite sick. I didn't have anything actually diagnosed, but the normal symptoms of hyperthyroidism kept getting worse and worse. I ended up in hospital after my sight started going funny.

I wanted to have surgery, and have my thyroid removed, but they said I was too young, and there were too many risks. Now that I'm a singer, I'm too afraid to get surgery on my throat, in case my voice gets damaged.

Even though I'm on medication, my hypothyroidism really isn't highly controlled. I still suffer with a lot of symptoms, and am often ill because of it. I know I need to get a doctor's appointment, but I just never end up with the time, and, when I'm so busy, I just can't seem to get bothered with the symptoms. I wouldn't even remember I had it if it weren't for the medication I had to take every day.

The only symptom that gets to me is the diarrhoea. It doesn't happen too often, but when it does, it comes on suddenly, and it's a rush to the toilet. Thankfully, there's been no accidents so far, but I do worry about performances.

I know that I can't keep living like this. I'm going to end up making myself seriously sick, and I'm running on borrowed time. I'll make an appointment, when I get some time ...

*

I wake up this morning with a bit of a tickly chest. It's nothing to do with my hyperthyroidism. I think I just have another cold coming on.

I get up, and take my meds. The pills are pretty big, but they're not all that strong. Like I said, they don't work too well for me. I wash my face, get myself dressed, and head out for breakfast. Today is going to be a long day. I have 6 hours of dance practice, and, whilst the others continue, me, Namjoon, and Hoseok will be going to the studio, to help the producers tie up the ends of our new album. It's still another two months until we're ready to release it, but it's good to be this prepared.

Here's an unknown fact about me: I actually really enjoy dance practice. When I first joined the company, I really didn't want to do it, and I told PDnim there was no way I was going to be a dancer. They agreed, but then they snuck me into an idol group, and before I knew it, I was stuck in the routine.

I actually found that, even though I had complained, dancing really helped me burn through all the extra energy I had from my thyroid, and all of the nervous energy I had, too. It actually really helped me calm down a little, and the little sleep we did get, I would be able to sleep the whole night. I have to say, it feels pretty good.

I take a seat at the table. Seokjin, Taehyung, and Jungkook are already there, pouring themselves cereal. I take a seat at my normal place at the table, and pour my own bowl. I take a small breath in, then immediately start to cough, my chest feeling a bit wheezy.
