“You stole the white oak stakes from my office.” Alaric crossed his arms.
“Actually, Josie stole them from you,” Hope corrected him. “And then Lizzie gave them to me.”
Alaric gave her a stern look that said it didn’t matter how she got the stakes.
“Look,” Hope sighed. "Did it work or did it work?”
“That’s not -”
“I let him out, Dr. Saltzman. It was my responsibility to kill him.” Hope swallowed heavily.
“He was your father.” Alaric folded his hands and leaned back. “You didn’t have to be the one to kill him.”
“He’s not my father.” Hope said sadly. “He was just another monster.”
