Hope, Penelope, and Lizzie all froze at the end of the hallway when they saw Josie heading straight towards them.
“Lizzie!” she said, an angry look on her face.
Lizzie swallowed heavily. No doubt her sister had just gotten her first taste of their revenge and it had already gotten out who was behind it. Lizzie had expected this.
Josie didn’t make it halfway down the hallway before her shoelaces knotted together and she face-planted into the hardwood.
Three jaws dropped before turning into timid but impressed smiles.
“Careful, Jo-Jo,” Alyssa laughed, appearing at the end of the hallway. “You’re probably gonna want to watch where you’re going for a bit.”
Hope looked to Lizzie, who supplied a helpful,
“Alyssa Chang wanted the honors of helping us get revenge.”
“Girl’s got style.” Penelope’s eyebrows were still raised, eyes still on Josie and she untied her shoelaces with a pout.
Alyssa passed them, giving Lizzie a subtle high-five and whispering, “I jinxed her shoes to knot anytime she thinks something mean.”
“She’s not gonna get to take five steps,” Lizzie whispered back incredulously. “You’re an evil genius.”
