Peaceful life Shattered;and the barrier

Shizuka smiled towards the children before instigating a game of hide and seek. Which the very thought of it seemed to make the children scatter,running as fast as their little feet could carry them. Releasing a light chuckle,Shizuka covered her eyes before beginning her countdown. "10,9,8,7,6,5,4,3,2,1!"Shizuka exclaimed,uncovering her eyes and turning around to meet the gaze of a child she had never seen before in the village.

The child was a young girl who wore a dark yellow and red hued kimono. Her raven hair had a single side ponytail which made Shizuka want to fix it. The little girl peered up towards Shizuka in awe,her eyes scanning over Shizuka who rubbed her arms nervously. "And who might you be?"Shizuka questioned kneeling down at eye level with the child who let out a light giggle. "I'm Rin."She answered with a shy smile which was simply adorable to Shizuka.

"Well hello little Rin,my name is Shizuka. Would you like to play with me?"Shizuka asker referring to the game of hide and seek she was currently in the middle of. Rin nodded excitedly,her small hand gripping onto Shizuka's sending an unfamiliar sensation through her body. This child....was different. That much was for sure. Behind her smile and many laughs,Shizuka knew she had seen much pain. It was almost too much to bare. Shizuka watched as Rin raced through the village with Shizuka begin her, searching for her new playmates. Every once in awhile Rin would turn to Shizuka to make sure she was by her side,before continuing her search for the children. It was strange to the little girl how safe she felt around the woman. It was very similar to how she felt around him.

Rin had yet to see him in a few days which only meant he was busy at the moment. She missed his long flowing silver hair which many times Rin had the luxury of nuzzling her face into. And the stern yet smoldering amber eyes which forever entrapped Rin within his demonic aura. She would follow him forever,and like him this woman Shizuka made Rin want to follow her as well.

Rin wondered when he would return, and most of all a single question haunted the little girl to no end. Would she have to leave Shizuka and never see her again? Just that thought was enough to make her shed tears. She did not want to leave and forget about Shizuka,she wanted to stay and learn more about her. And be by her side. That was what she wanted and craved above all else. With Shizuka;Rin could live like a normal human. But then again the young girl could not imagine her life without him it was very confusing for her.

After battling with her own thoughts Rin and Shizuka searched the village. One after the other finding the children so giggled and squealed as they were spotted. Shizuka smiled towards the sky above watching as the sun slowly began to set behind the mass of mountains at the outskirts of the village. Rin watched as the children were called home by their parents who ushered them inside and into their warm beds. Rin remained silent feeling a tinge of jelousy rush through her at the sight. It had been many years since Rin remembered the love and touch of a loved one it saddened her to no end. Tears began to slither down Rin 's cheeks as she hiccup ed abit. Catching Shizuka's attention,Rin released a frustrated cry into the air before finding herself in the safety of Shizuka's arms who whispered soothing words to her.Rin gripped a fistful of Shizuka's kimono as she cried herself to sleep,lulled by Shizuka's gentle words.

Carefully Shizuka swept the young girl in her arms before making her way through the sleeping village to her own tiny hut at the edge of the village. It was nothing much,but it was a roof over her head and had saved Shizuka time and time again. Gently she laid Rin on the bed,pulling a blanket over the sleeping child who continued to sleep soundly. Shizuka smiled,gently patting Rin on the head before quietly stepping out of her tiny hut to find herself staring upwards towards the darkened sky above. The only light among it was the heavenly glow of the moon which seemed to almost shun the village leaving it forever in darkness.

Shizuka shuddered as a sudden sense of dread made itself known to her heart. She couldn't help but to gasp,gripping onto her chest before spotting near her hut was the grotesque form of an ogre demon. The demon licked it's chops before barreling towards Shizuka at top speed spouting nonsense about its meal. Shizuka held back a horrified scream,her concern shifting from herself to little Rin whom lay defenseless. For the first time in her life Shizuka stepped in front of the demon,her hands extending before her in a protective way. She wanted to protect Rin,and she would no matter what. "Away!" Shizuka shouted as the demon hissed before slamming it's large club down towards Shizuka. She flinched before hearing the distinct sound of electricity crackling before her,slowly she peeked her eyes open revealing the ogre demon who's club now seemed to be stuck in what appeared to be a silvery barrier.

Shizuka stared in awe at the barrier she had suddenly created,watching as the ogre flung it's very body against it earning harsh burns on its body. It howled angrily before turning it's gaze to the remaining village as it ran towards its,destroying many lives along the way. Shizuka's body trembled slightly as her legs buckled under the strain of keeping the barrier up. She wasn't use to this kind of strain on her body,it was almost enough to break her. But she had to save them,she had to save the children.

With her breathing heavily labored Shizuka rose to her feet, leaving the safety of her barrier as she ran to the village where already the mangled bodies of the villagers lay before her. Shizuka covered her mouth in an effort to stop from puking before noticing a hoard of children the demon had found. The children cried for their parents as the demon cackled at their words before readying to attack them. "Shizuka neechan! " One of the children cried fearfully catching the demons attention as it sniffed the air. A sudden smirk appearing on its face"Your what smells so good!"it exclaimed as Shizuka glared towards the ogre demon,adrenaline pumping through her veins as she ran towards the children who cried her name. The demon smirked before roughly grabbing Shizuka picking her up before beginning to squeeze the very life out of her.

Already Shizuka could feel her body beginning to give into the darkness and felt the sudden sensation that she was falling. Falling into the never ending darkness that called out to her. "Shizuka neechan!!" "Shizuka née!" "Okasan!" Upon hearing those words Shizuka's dull emerald green eyes slowly faded away revealing a brilliantly silver glow."Leave....them alone!"She exclaimed angrily before her body began to give off a vibrant silver light which blinded the demon.

The demon roared angrily, dropping Shizuka on the ground rather suddenly, yet was surprised at the fact that Shizuka never truly touched the ground. Her body now lay suspended in mid air,with the strange silver aura pulsing around her. The demon hissed angrily towards her before retreating back to the forest while Shizuka turned towards the cowering children who seemed to scream even louder at the very sight of her.

"Yokai!" "Your a demon just like they said!" "Get away from us!" The children cried fearfully before running away from Shizuka who stood completely puzzled. She watched as the aura around her suddenly dissipated,leaving Shizuka alone in the desolate village. The sense of dread and loneliness quickly overcame her as she covered her face and shed tears of sorrow. She was alone, with no one to care for nor care for her.

Shizuka sobbed loudly,her cries echoing throughout the area.
