"Momo's one of the fiercest competitors to ever set foot in the kitchen. You gotta be ruthless if you wanna take her down! Fight dirty if you have to!"

"Umm, Rindo? Is it really okay for a judge to be saying that kind of stuff?"

"You've got a point, Kid. What I totally meant to say was that I want a nice clean match. No funny business." Torrey and Rindo conversed just outside of the arena. It was a huge, spectacular building that looked like it would be more suited for a World Cup soccer match. They pull out all the stops for these Food Wars...

Isshiki somehow found a third judge and secured official authorization for the Shokugeki, even making it back to their classroom before the final bell of the day. It was now 3:35pm, and the official match time was 4:00pm sharp.

"If we walk in together, people might accuse me of being biased. Just know that I'm rooting for you, but when it comes to food- I don't play favorites. I let the dish do the talking!" Rindo explained her foody philosophy to Torrey. "So go in there and make your Senpai proud!" She smiled as she slapped him on the back, before entering the arena.

"Hey, New Guy!" Soma's voice called out.

"You know I have a name, right?"

"Yeah, I heard it's Waldenpond. I can call you that, if you'd like!" Torrey already noticed Soma's preference for referring to students by last name. Maybe that's why everyone seemed to be mildly irritated with him...

"New Guy it is then!" Torrey laughed, and Soma joined in.

"Gotta admit, I'm insanely jealous that Akanegakubo gets to take the first shot at you." His features suddenly grew serious.

"I know, I know...you've been going on about these shoku-necki's all day. But she challenged me directly in front of Rindo, I just couldn't say no in that situation."

"I hear ya, when it's an issue of pride, no chef worth his salt can back down from a challenge!" Soma smacked his open palm with a fist.

"Glad we agree on that. And now that I can finally grasp these rules in the palms of my hands, I'll be ready for your official challenge!"

"Bring it! Man, I remember my first Shokugeki like it was yesterday."

"That's because it pretty much WAS yesterday," interrupted a familiar and condescending voice. Torrey and Soma turned to see Ikumi Mito approaching. A half-zipped leather jacket covered her otherwise revealing Totsuki summer uniform.

"Haha, you're right! Why don't we tell him the story Nikumi? This girl tried to take on the Bowl Society..."

"I didn't come here to relive the past, I was just being snarky!" Ikumi snarled, her face welling up with anger. Torey's gaze shifted from one to the other. Soma was smiling smugly. "In fact, I just came by to wish Torrey good luck. Not that you need it, of course. I'll be rooting for you." She blew him a kiss on her way into the arena.

"Wha-ho-ho! What the heck, all she ever tells me is "you'd better not lose ya nitwit!" Anyways, I'm meeting up with Megumi and Ryoko, so we'll be cheering you on too!"

"Thanks! Oh yeah, how does everyone already know about this? I'm surprised Isshiki was even able to get it approved in time."

"That's Isshiki for you. Ever since you asked him to be a judge, he's been tweeting about it nonstop! Everyone at Totsuki follows the council members, so you can expect most of the school to be there!" Torrey suddenly grew pale.
