While Torrey and the gang were enduring their marathon bus ride, the rest of the Elite Ten were enjoying a comfortable flight through the skies above.

"Phew! Time for the long trip to begin! I guess if you think of it as a free vacation to Hokkaido, it's pretty awesome," said Rindo Kobayashi, reclining in her chair. She flipped open a magazine.

Sitting next to her was Eishi Tsukasa, who wasn't nearly as relaxed. His complexion was as pale as ever, and he had a serious case of the jitters. Compared to Momo Akanegakubo, however, Tsukasa looked like a seasoned traveler.

Somei Saito had to drag her onto the plane, and now she was holding on tight to Butchy while staring vacantly at the back of Tsukasa's seat. DOOM.

"OOH! OOH! Tsukasa, check this out! Doesn't it look delicious?" said Rindo, already drooling over her magazine.

"Um, Rindo? D-don't forget we're on this trip for an exam, okay?" replied Tsukasa.

"Don't be such a worrywart! It's not like we're actually taking the exams. We're just gonna have some fun with our juniors," Rindo pointed out.

"...". Momo wanted to make a sassy remark about Rindo's idea of fun, but she was still trembling with fear.

"It's still important that we take this trip seriously," said Nene, sitting alone in the adjacent aisle. "As the elite students of Totsuki, it's our duty to ensure that the next generation of students live up to this school's prestigious name."

"Hehe, you said duty," said Rindo. "And what gives? Weren't you supposed to convince Kohai to fly with us?"

            "He...wasn't interested."

"In flying? Or sitting with you?"

            "Neither, apparently."

"Well don't feel too bad about it. He's REALLY close with his fellow first-years," said Rindo, noticing a trace of disappointment in Nene's voice. "Of course, convincing him to come along would have been child's play for me. He's powerless against my womanly charms."

            "Is that so?" said Nene.

"...not really. But he's just playing hard to get. I've got him right where I want him."

"Is that so?" said Nene, still skeptical.

"Who are you, Dr. Phil? Get outta here," said Rindo, suddenly irritated.

"Now I see why you were dreading this flight," said Saito, turning to Momo in the seat next to him. She didn't seem to hear him.

****************************************************************

Time seemed to be slowly creeping forward while on the bus. It was its own little universe, governed by rules that didn't exist in the real world. Minutes felt like hours, and hours felt like days. Finally, months later, one of the Totsuki faculty members who was chaperoning stood up to make an announcement.

"Everyone, please listen up. We'll be stopping momentarily for a lunch break. Once we arrive at our destination, please remain seated until further instructions are given," he said into a megaphone.

Jonny jumped out of his seat in excitement.

"Finally! I was beginning to think I'd never see a plate of food again," he said, eyes welling up with tears.
