Ch. 79 Regiment de Cuisine: 3rd Bout

            Torrey is watching the third bout from his VIP seat, when he suddenly gets a phone call. He is more interested in this bout than either of the two before it, including his own. This is because his fellow first-years are fighting for the Resistance side. The matchups will be tough for them to win: Soma vs Saito, Takumi vs Eizan, and Megumi vs Momo. Torrey picks up the phone.

"Hello?" he says

"K-k-kohai..."

"Rindo-Senpai?! Are you all right?"

"K-k-kohai...I don't feel so good..."

"You sound miserable. Are you at the hotel right now?"

"Y-y-yes...but...everything is so dark...and cold..."

"Can't you just turn the lights on? And maybe the heater?"

Rindo pauses for a moment.

"N-n-no...if only...it was that easy ..."

Torrey sighs, sensing that he's about to miss the rest of the match. Watching the first year trio giving it their all- he feels inspired.

"Do you need me to stop by?"

"I-I-it can't be helped..."

"Fine, I'll have one of Azami's drivers take me back."

"Thanks a bunch!"

"Wait a second...are you just trying to get me to your room so you can seduce me?"

"K-k-kohai...I would never."

"Hmm, riiight. Well, I should be there pretty soon."

"W-w-what a good...kohai...zzzzz," says Rindo.

Did she just fall asleep?! thinks Torrey, hanging up the phone. He gets up from his seat, finds one of the suits stationed nearby, and requests a car. In a matter of minutes, he's on his way back to the Snowy Moon Hotel.

"Tssk," says Momo, her brow creasing in frustration as she watches Torrey leave the arena. She really wants to impress him with her dish.

"Hmm, I wonder where Torrey's headed off to?" says Ryoko, from the cage. Torrey still manages to be the center of attention, though he isn't even participating in the third bout. 

 "Maybe he's having an affair," suggests Yuki. It's a joke, but this earns her a few mortified looks from her peers.

"How can you say that? We have enough to worry about as it is..." says Ikumi.

"I did happen to see him on the phone. OMG, if I find out that Mom gave him her number..." says Alice.

"D-do not allow yourselves to be distracted by such trivial matters! Yukira, Aldini, and Tadokoro need our support now more than ever. Steel your resolve!" says Erina. She doesn't mention, of course, that she's also been keeping an eye on Torrey, and that she also noticed the phone call.

Torrey walks in to the hotel lobby, and heads for the elevator. He stops when he sees Terunori Kuga and Nene Kinokuni. Once Nene notices Torrey, the pair of second-years grow quiet. Kuga is sitting in a massage chair, while Nene stands beside him.

"Torrey? What are you doing here?!" says Nene. "Shouldn't you be watching the match?"

"I could be asking you the same question," says Torrey.
