Living With Damon and Stefan

"Well, there's no surprise there." I said.

"What?" Alaric asked.

"Damon's known for killing people." I said.

"And you're okay with this?" he asked.

"Well no, but he's a vampire, it's his nature." I said.

"Why doesn't he eat animals, like Stefan?" he asked.

I imagined Damon hunting bunnies and laughed.

Stefan laughed a little too.

"Yeah, if you knew Damon, you'd understand." Stefan said.

"I may not know him, but I know what he did. And he'll pay," Alaric said.

I turned serious again. "How?"

"I'm going to kill him."

"I wouldn't," I said coldly.

"And why is that?"

"Because the second you even try to kill him you'll be dead just like that. And besides," I said. "If you do succeed in killing him, which you won't, you'll have me to worry about."

"Marni," Stefan warned.

"Just sayin'." I said, putting my hands up.

"You're not a vampire," Alaric said. "So what are you?"

"A witch."

"A witch?" he asked. "I've never really read anything about them."

"Back to the point," Stefan said.

"Stefan he killed my wife." Alaric said. "Do you think I can just get over that?"

"No, but you don't want Damon as an enemy," Stefan said. "Trust me. He is very unstable at the moment."

"I can't just do nothing!" he exclaimed.

"I just thought of the best idea ever!" I said.

"Here we go." Stefan muttered.

I glared at him.

"You can kill a vampire, right?" I asked Alaric.

"Well, yeah,"

"And you want revenge by killing Damon, right?"

"What are you getting at?" he asked.

"Well, we have a little vampire problem of our own, you see," I said. "And instead of killing Damon, you can go all Van Helsing style on the vampires we need dead and save the little town of Mystic Falls."

"Wait, what's this whole vampire problem?" he asked.

I filled him in, leaving out some things, like Katherine.

"And you want me to help kill them," Alaric said.

"Uh huh. Stefan what do you think?"

He thought about it for a second. "Well, it could work," he said. "And it would be handy having him on our side. But it would be dangerous."

"I'm in," Alaric said. "At least I get to kill some vampires."

"They aren't that bad." I said. "Like Stefan the bunny eater."

Stefan shot me a glare.

"Stefan, I like," Alaric said. "Damon, on the other hand, not so much."

"So it's settled. Alaric is officially our friend, not our enemy." I said.

"Let's hope it stays that way," Stefan said. "Oh, and Alaric? Word of advice. Don't confront Damon about your wife. Otherwise he'll kill you."

"I'll keep that in mind." he said.
