It took a few days, but Chase and Jamison finally arrived at Adventure City, Chase's face was glued to the window. The city was so large to the little pup.

"Woah." Chase muttered which made Jamison laugh.

"Is this your first time in a city?" Jamison asked and Chase turned to him and playfully nodded which made Jamison laugh again.

"I figured as much." He said with a smile and turned his attention back onto the road.

"Are we gonna live here?" Chase asked, hoping that Jamison's answer would be say,

"Hopefully." Jamison sighed and Chase gave him a confused look.

"Hopefully?" Chase innocently asked.

"Remember how I said we came here because I was having a deal here?" Jamison remembered and Chase thought about it for a quick second and nodded back.

"Well, if this works out, then we'll be able to live in a really good place here." Jamison said and Chase smiled. Maybe everything will finally work out? Chase wondered to himself. Maybe his new life with Jamison would help him and make his life better.

And suddenly, Chase felt the car stop and looked around and noticed that Jamison parked in front of a large building in the city.

"We're here." Jamison said, unbuckled his seatbelt, opened the door and walked out of the car, soon opening Chase's door.

"Let's go." Jamison said and of course, not suspecting anything, Chase hopped out of the car and followed Jamison towards the building. Both of them had to walk a few steps up to the building and this whole time, Chase was staring up at the building, each step he took, it felt like the huge tower was getting higher and higher into the clouds.

There was also a large logo with the globe and dogs and other animals orbiting around it, though Chase didn't mind but he thought that the logo was really cool.

Both of them finally walked inside the building and Chase was surprised by the inside. Everything seemed so nice and clean. Of course, there were a lot of people but the inside was still nice. The counters, the floors, the walls, the ceilings, everything seemed so organized. Something that Chase wasn't used to.

Jamison saw the expression on the pup's face and smiled.

"C'mon, follow me." Jamison said once more and both of them walked towards the elevator which had a window. Jamison pressed a button and both of them were now being lifted, Chase looked out of the window, and each time they passed a floor, Chase could see a much better view of the city. He thought being inside it was large, but from this view, it looked like the city never ends. This view made the city look like a complete maze.

The elevator stopped and the doors opened, both of them walked out and walked down a hallway until they stopped at a door and Jamison kneeled down to Chase.

"Okay, just you wait here. I'll be out in a minute." Jamison patted Chase and walked into the room, closing the door behind him and leaving Chase out in the hallway.

"Oh! Hello, Jamison." Chase heard a man's voice and heard Jamison greet back to him. Chase was slightly surprised that he could hear their voices through the walls, but nonetheless, pressed his ear against it, now curious on what deal they were talking about.

"I brought the pup here now, since we're in the same business, I guess it's time to make that deal." Jamison said and Chase was confused, now even more curious and kept his ear against the wall.

"Yeah, about that," Chase heard the other man's voice, "We've actually got another offer and we decided to sell another dog." The man explained and Chase silently gasped, he was even more confused now. Sell another dog? What were they talking about?

"Wait, what!?" Chase heard Jamison's shocked voice, "We signed a contract. We had a deal!"

"Look, I'm sorry, but the deal is off." The other man said sternly.

"Are you kidding me? I went through so much trouble to get that dumb mutt to trust me so I could sell him off to hopefully get more money but now you're saying that you had another deal with someone?" Jamison argued.

Chase felt his heart drop. He couldn't believe it. The man that he trusted. The man that said he was going to adopt him and make his life better. All of this time, it was all an act so that he could sell Chase to get more money. Chase could no longer feel any emotions as if they were drained. He trusted a human for the first time and that same human was trying to use him for their own selfish gain.

Silence

Chase then heard the door open and the man walked out, closing the door and looking at the floor with an angry, frustrated glare. He then glanced over to Chase who had a shocked look on his face and seemed like he was about to cry.

"Y-You tricked me?" Chase stuttered in disbelief. Without a word, the man picked Chase up and both of them went into the elevator. The man pressing the floor button, they were now being lifted down to the floor. The entire lift was silent, Chase was still in a shock of disbelief, and when the elevator reached down, Jamison wasted no time getting back inside his vehicle and sat in the passenger seat that confused Chase.

"So how'd it go dear?"

Chase looked at the side of the passenger seat and saw a woman, looking at Jamison.

"Sorry honey, but the deal was off." Jamison explained. The fact that Jamison called her "honey" and she called him "dear" made Chase assume that she was his wife.

"So, what're we gonna do with it?" His wife asked, as she looked towards Chase who had his ears down.

"Sorry, but if we can't make the deal, he's worthless to me now." Jamison coldly stared at Chase, not realizing that he just destroyed a healing heart.

And without a word, the car was moving again and they drove away from that company. This whole time, Chase felt like an idiot, but mostly hurt. Chase couldn't believe that the man he trusted to protect and take care of him, all of this time, was actually trying to sell him off.

Chase didn't realize how much time had passed, but now they were at a random place in the city and the poor pup saw Jamison opening the door and without getting out, picked Chase up with both of his arms and set him down on the sidewalk. Chase was confused and now scared, he looked up at the sky and noticed that the sun was going down. It was going to be night time soon.

He then heard the car door slam shut and he looked back to see the red pickup truck driving off, with Jamison and his wife inside. Chase felt a tear trickle down his cheek. It all happened so fast, Chase couldn't comprehend what he just witnessed. He slowly looked back up at the intimidating sights of the large buildings.

He's now been abandoned once again, but this time, abandoned at Adventure City
