He used every ounce of his strength to push his legs from the ground, all he could see now were the trees of the forest he ran through to get away from everyone else. But no matter how fast he ran, it didn't stop the tears from falling down his cheeks. No collar to track him and no hoodie to keep him warm anymore...

And no mask to hide behind.

He kept running until his legs hurt and when they did, he stopped. He breathed heavily but also to catch his breath. Silence. All he could hear were the winds rustling through the leaves and the sound of fireworks exploding in the air off to the distance.

But one thing he didn't hear were the calls from behind after he ran off. He couldn't hear the pups, Ryder or anybody else. It was just him and he was glad. Chase calmed himself down for a little bit. His entire body was still shaking, but he was light-headed and his mind was still in shock at what just went down at the Lookout.

Out of all the times, this just had to happen. But he was also surprised that it would be that moment that pushed him to the point of breaking. How can I be so weak? Chase thought with a broken thought. Now what was he supposed to do? He can't go back to the Lookout, cause he never wanted to go back.

No family, no money, no friends, no real love. He was back to where he started. Alone.

What was he supposed to do now? Where was he supposed to go? Chase had no-one and nowhere to go to. What was he supposed to do?

But then, he remembered something.

The entire situation with Lady Keres, Lincoln, the pups, his parents, all of it. He knew that he needed to end all of this. Now, his sadness was replaced with anger.

Flash Back

"We can't hide from our past forever. Remember how I said we would have fun together? WE can do whatever we want and you've proven us right." He said with a smile which made Chase slightly confused, but he still held his glare.

"That fight with the Ominous Ten? No human in the world could ever dream of doing something as amazing as that! We can hold our own without having those dead weights following us around," His other side spoke, referring to the Paw Patrol.

"We're not any other kind of dog. We are something with ultimate strength and with that strength, we can do whatever we want."

Flash Back Ends

It was true, things would catch up later in his life. Lady Keres, the Overlord, his past, it would all come back soon and that time was now. He couldn't just ignore it, but there was nothing else he could do...except one thing.

Foggy Bottom

Chase quickly decided to go back to Foggy Bottom. Inside Humdinger's home, nobody was there. No Humdinger, no Helga, no Maya or Arya and no kittens. Nobody was there, the place was like a ghost town, except it's a really small town.

Without wasting any time, figuring that Humdinger could come back any minute, Chase quickly ran to his room...or what used to be his room and opened the door, seeing the gift that he got for Christmas laying on his bed.

He walked up and picked up the hoodie and the other cape that Humdinger gave him. Then, he felt something around his neck and realized that he still had Kamato's necklace. He then realized something as he looked back at the cape that he picked up that used to belong to Kamato.

This wasn't his.

Saddened a little, Chase carefully put the cape and the necklace back down on the bed, carefully. I'm sorry Humdinger...and Kamato. I'm not...worthy to wear that. Chase mentally apologized and just took the spare hoodie and looked at it. Even though his scars were already revealed, he still needed to wear something. I'll pay you back someday, Humdinger. The German Shepherd thought as he quickly put on the hoodie and threw the hoodie over his head.
