He's been nervous about a lot of things but he hasn't felt this nervous before.
He didn't have to deal with fighting some kind of bad guy or confronting his fears or facing death in the face but he would say he's just as nervous as he was at those times. Possibly more.
What was he supposed to call this? A date? Or just a regular hangout? Yeah, just a hangout. It's what Skye asked last night. Plus, it's not really an ideal first date. Chase deadpanned in his thoughts. When he thinks about having a date with someone, talking about past situations and making up isn't really the first thing that came to his mind.
It was somewhere around midnight, possibly a little before midnight. Chase and Skye across from each other in the Air Patroller. Their eyes kept meeting back and forth, letting themselves know that each other is awake and they can motion to each other when it's the best time to go. As soon as everyone fell asleep, they nodded at each other and both of them slowly rose from their sitting positions. Both of them quietly and slowly walked closer to the entrance. Chase had to carefully tip-toe over couple of the pups. Once the two stood right next to each other, Chase moved his head closer to Skyes ear.

"Hey." Chase whispered over to her, keeping his voice as low as possible.

"Hm?" She said, confirming she heard him. She watched the Shepherd looked away with a light blush.

"Um, y'know-uh...with how our last hangout went...well...y'know how that went." Chase asked.

Skye cringed when the Shepherd brought it up.

"Yeah. Look, I wanna talk about tha-" Skye began to speak.

"Oh, no-no, that's not what I was really saying." Chase interrupted her which now confused the Cockapoo.

"You remember how our...date, went back at the city?" Chase rephrased his earlier statement.

"Uh-huh?"

"Well...wanna make this into a date or...? Like...y'know...yeah."

Skyes eyes widened a little.

"A date?" She repeated.

"I dunno. It's just-I mean, it can be. I-I mean, it doesn't have to be like or exactly that. It can just be a regular hang out-I was just thinking that-" Chases words fell apart. However, he didn't see that the Cockapoo was smiling and that she was very close to giggling.

"Sure." Skye responded.

That response made Chase close his mouth completely.

"R...Really?"

Skye quietly giggled at his reaction.

"Yeah, really. We can make it a date."

He said nothing but gave a small smile.
The two just stared at each for a moment and both of them got lost in each others eyes. They were standing still for perhaps a few seconds or possibly a minute before they realized what they were doing. They quickly looked away and began to blush.

"Oh-sorry." Skye apologized.

"No-no, it's fine."

Both pups stood in silence once again.

"Uh...we should get going." Chase reminded her.

"Yeah..."

With that, the two pups quietly exited the plane.
That was...awkward. Both pups thought. Did they ever have an interaction like this before? When they were outside for the first minute or so, they haven't really spoken a word to each other. They just asked where they'd like to go but both gave the same response. It didn't matter to them. So in the end, they decided that a simple walk in the forest would be good. No destination to go to, just going to whatever it is.
Right now, they still said nothing to each other. They've started walking through the forest for a few seconds, possibly about two minutes, and they still haven't said a word. Both of them were questioning why nothing was being said. And questioning that, they started to get nervous even more. Just say something! Chase and Skye yelled at themselves. They glanced at each other and soon as their eyes met, they nervously smiled and looked away again.
What's wrong with us? Both thought. They questioned why they were making a big deal out of this for no reason at all. It's just speaking. It's just words. When looking at it, they're just making up and going over stuff that happened in the past.
Perhaps...confronting it all is the most intimidating part about all of this. But confronting the past wasn't troubling...something else was troubling them...
