Fight Or Flight

     After the little exchange between Edan and Chase, Katie and Kushina came back with his food and water. Chase mostly drank the water but had a hard time consuming the food because every time he would try and swallow, it felt like a knife cutting the inside of his throat every time. But he didn't care right now, all he could think about was Kushina and Edan.

Mom and Dad. Never in his life did he ever think he'll call them those two words, but he did. He wanted and accepted Kushina and Edan as his parents. And so have they. They were family now. Chase warmly smiled at that thought, his eyes were still closed as he was still resting. Kushina, Katie and Edan have decided to let Chase be alone for a bit while they were organizing and planning some stuff for Christmas.

This gave the shepherd some time to think. A frown appeared on his face suddenly.

Flash Back

"Now I see."

Chase's eyes slightly widened as he heard the Overlords voice through the pup-tag. Has he hacked into his pup-tag?

"W-W-W-W-What?" Chase stuttered roughly, now confused even more.

"It appears that you've strongly inherited his genes now, have you, pup?" He said through his pup-tag, "But you're still inexperienced, you aren't able to unlock your true potential. If only you join the right side." The Overlord stated.

"And I...can help you."

Silence, Chase just didn't respond, but he didn't have to as a few more static sounds came and the Overlords booming voice came back.

"Heed this warning. The Ominous Ten are on their way. Tomorrow, by tonight, you better show at Adventure Bay Park, or else you'll witness the destruction of your entire home."

Flash Back Ends

He can't stop repeating those lines. Tonight, the Ominous Ten are going to be here. At Adventure Bay Park. But what can he do? He's still sick, he's in the worst condition possible. All of these thoughts flooded in, giving him more of a reason to tell Ryder.

But then, another memory came back to him.

Flash Back

"I'm getting real sick and tired of cleaning up your messes, Lincoln." Chase growled and Lincoln sighed, as he stood up.

"Perhaps, but as we both know, I wasn't responsible for this one. But let's not forget who offered you a handsome amount of money to do just what you did tonight." Lincoln started, and his emotionless frown suddenly turned into a light smile.

"And now, you've worked with me to fight that crazy ol' dog. You've done some of my business tonight. There's still enough time to take up on my other, however, I'll leave it to you." He said and walked off, feeling Chase's glare following him.

Flash Back Ends

His weak face showed a little frown, now having second thoughts.

9:00 PM

Since it's the winter season, night time came much earlier, and soon, everyone was back at the Lookout. They all walked in, all happy, smiling, laughing and talking which saddened Chase a little bit, but overall, he couldn't care less.

They all settled down while Ryder came up to Katie.

"Is he doing any better?" The leader asked and the blond nodded her head side to side.
