Stiles POV

The next afternoon, I'm sitting in the passenger seat of my jeep. Scott is driving. I don't know where he got the keys from, because I hadn't given him mine yet. Did he have a key made for the jeep? Oh well, it doesn't matter. I'm just glad that I'm well enough to leave the animal clinic. "Dude, when I get to your place, I'm going to need to use the bathroom for a while." I laugh.

"I think that's understandable." Scott answers through a smile.

"Give me... Hmm... An hour." I say. Scott's eyes widen.

"An hour? Really, Stiles? Will it take you that long?" Scott asks in disbelief.

"You're really gullible! I'm just kidding!" I assure him as I playfully punch his arm. Scott rolls his eyes.

"I should call you Mr Gullible." I tease.

"Yeah, yeah, I get it Stiles." Scott rolls his eyes again. I turn my head to look out the window and watch the scenery fly by. It's so different to being underwater, especially in a kingdom such as Atlantia. I don't think people will understand unless they have been there. I turn back around, staring straight ahead of me, focusing on a point in the middle of the road. I can't let myself think too much about Atlantia or my parents. I'll start feeling homesick and sad. No matter how much I love Beacon Hills and call it home, or its people or how long I stay here, I will always miss Atlantia. Especially since my mom is dead and my dad... Well, I don't know how he is. I sniffle. Great. I've let myself get sad. Scott quickly glances over at me.

"Are you okay?" He asks me. I consider his question for a moment.

"Not really." I sigh, looking down at my feet.

"What's wrong?" Scott asks gently. I look over to my best friend.

"I don't know, I just miss my parents a lot." I shrug. I watch as Scott's eyes fill with emotion as he stares out at the road.

"Once again, I'm really sorry for what you're going through. No one deserves it. I can't imagine what it must feel like, but as I've told you before, I will always be here for you. I'm pretty sure the rest of the pack will be too." Scott says.

"Thanks, man." I reply with a small smile.

"I'm sorry if I seem like I'm going on over my parents for too long. I won't be like this forever." I apologize, thinking about what Deaton and I are planning to do. I picture finding my dad again and the kingdom safe. I suddenly feel a lot better, even if it was only just a thought. Scott quickly glares at me before staring back at the road again. "Don't apologize! You have no reason to! You have every right to be upset for as long as you need!" Scott says in a loud voice, almost like an order. I put my hands up, exaggerating being defeated. "Woah, woah, okay, man! I won't apologize again. Don't shoot me!" I tease, a smile quickly forming on my face. Scott laughs.

"Good." Scott replies in an obviously fake stern voice. The two of us laugh for a few moments before going back into a peaceful silence. "So, how's school?" I ask Scott, breaking the silence.

"Well, none of us went on Monday because we were all still shaken up. My mom also explained to the school why you weren't there and why you probably wouldn't be there for a while. The rest of us went back today." Scott explains.
