👼 MY ANGEL 👼

“Jeremy, you know I still don’t like you, right?” Hayley said, watching the road.

“I know,” Jeremy replied in a low voice.

“Then why did you persistently ask me to come with you somewhere today?” Hayley looked at Jeremy, confused.

“Because I felt you should be there,” Jeremy responded, briefly turning to her before returning his gaze to the road.

Hayley didn’t like that she wasn’t getting a straight answer. She had only tolerated Jeremy when they were working together to get Elsa’s case dismissed and clear her name. But that was over now, and they didn’t need to be friends or hang out. However, Jeremy insisted it was important and related to Elsa, so Hayley reluctantly agreed.

“Are we going anywhere special, or are we just driving around?” Hayley asked, keeping her eyes on the street and observing the people passing by.

When Jeremy saw how impatient she was, he finally answered her burning question. “We are going to April Sea.” He then took a right turn and drove down a short road leading to the beach.

“At the sea? Why are we going there? What’s out there... if there’s anything?” Hayley questioned, her confusion growing.

“Elsa asked me that if she ever passed away, I could spread her ashes into the waters of April Sea,” Jeremy said quietly.

Upon hearing this, Hayley’s eyes welled up with tears. She didn’t say anything more until the car stopped. Jeremy got out of the car, carrying Elsa’s urn, and Hayley followed closely behind.

Jeremy remembered Elsa bringing him to this beach. Despite its proximity, he hadn’t visited in years due to a personal reason he kept to himself. But returning here after that memory with Elsa, he felt like the place had become magical.

He reached into his pocket and pulled out the shell she had picked up and given to him. Its colors were fading, but it remained beautiful. Jeremy smiled at it before returning it to his pocket.

He held the urn in his hands and turned to Hayley. “Are you ready?”

Hayley’s face was covered in tears. She looked at the setting sun and remembered how much Elsa had loved these waters. Now, Elsa could swim in them forever.

“I’m not ready... But I know we have to, so I guess... I am ready,” Hayley’s voice strained with pain.

Jeremy offered his hand to Hayley, who gave him a questioning look. “I want us to pour it together,” Jeremy explained.

Hayley shrugged tiredly and took Jeremy's hand as they started walking into the water.

They needed to be far enough for the ashes to immediately land in the water. They walked until the water reached their upper thighs.
