MAINE's POV

I woke up with blood on my hands.

I was laid plopped down at the end of the stairs, face down.

The baby. Oh my goodness, the baby.

"Rj!"

I called out. But there was no response.

"Rj! Where are yo..Ahhhhhh!!!"

I called out again but heard no answer. I felt a sharp pain in my belly, like something was stabbing me, pushing then pulling. And then, I felt something wet between my thighs and so I looked. And it was blood. There was blood everywhere. On my clothes, the steps of the stairs and all over my body.

And then I blacked out.

I woke up to the voice of my husband telling the receptionist to get me in the Emergency Room.

"Yung asawa ko! Dalhin niyo yung asawa ko sa ER ngayon na!"

"Ah sir. Wala pong bakante sa ER. Sandali lang po, I have to confirm."

"Please, parang awa niyo na. Buntis siya."

"Sige po sir, isakay niyo na po siya sa wheelchair."

"Rj.."

I can feel my body becoming weaker and weaker.

"Love, Maine, hold on okay? Just hold on."

"Sir, kelangan na po natin operahan yung misis niyo. Nurse! Bring her to the operating room."

They started wheeling me in to the operating room instead of the emergency room.

"Rj, anong nangyari?"

"You fell down the stairs, Maine. I'm sorry.. I'm so sorry wala ako dun.."

He was sobbing.

"Love, yung baby natin."

"Oo love. Doc! Gawin niyo po lahat para isalba yung mag-ina ko. Please!"

"Yes, sir. We will do everything we can. For now sir, let us do our work. You cannot go beyond these doors."

"Rj..."

I said with all my strength. I felt his touch draw away.

"Maine, hihintayin ko kayo dito."

He said before the nurse closed the door on him.

Everything was blurry.

I was so disoriented and I felt a splitting headache.

"Doc! She has a laceration on the side of her head."

"Okay, apply pressure to the wound. Stop the bleeding."

"Doc, malalim yung sugat."
