Ralph couldn't help but loath human company, ever since he deviated—since the day he was damaged, tortured.

Hiding from humans had become routine for him. Although he lived in that abandoned house, humans still liked to squat there from time to time—more often than not, he'd been forced to hide under the staircase until they all left.

The WR600, however, despised feeling lonely.

Deep inside, Ralph wanted a friend—and he didn't care if they were human or android. Someone that could keep him company, talk to him; he'd love that, and wished for that almost every minute of every day. But due to his fear of encountering more humans that could hurt him, he always stayed hidden.

Until one night.

It was pouring down outside his home, whilst low roars of thunder rumbled in the background, accompanying the somewhat calming pitter-patter of the rain every once in a while. Ralph sat by one of the windows on the second floor, one of the few that had not being boarded up, and stared at the dark, clouded sky. A small smile tugged at the corner of his mouth every time a lightning strike lit up the scene, followed quickly by a roaring thunder.

If asked, Ralph would probably confess the sound of rain and thunder calmed him, allowed him to feel at ease.

Although not always. Aside from the usual thundering rumble, he heard something else that night; something that had him standing up immediately, holding his knife firmly in his hands—the front door had been slammed closed.

Fearing that more squatters had run in to stay the night, away from the pouring rain, Ralph stayed in his room, curling up into a ball, and hoped that whoever had made it inside his home never found out of his existence. Sometimes, and much to his dismay, rain not only brought calmness to him, but also unwanted visitors.

His wish of remaining unseen would most likely not be granted, however, as he heard footsteps climbing up the stairs.

Ralph stayed still on his spot by the corner, his only good eye fixated on the room's wide open door. If anyone walked across the hall, and glanced inside the room, they'd see him immediately. That thought alone made his thirium pump speed up considerably.
