This one is special for  You really made my day with your comments. This one is inspired by the song My Missing Piece by Sem Rozendaal.

It took a little time for me to realize how much you meant to me. It took me a moment to figure out what you really were to me. Whenever you would be gone, it felt like a part of went along with you. You brought colour to my mind. Your smile made me smile, and it's something I will keep close to me forever. You were my missing piece. And then I saw you with someone else. It broke my heart into pieces. But deep down, I knew it was my fault. I pushed you away, and I'm sorry. But it wasn't meant to work out. I'm letting you know that I'm wishing you well. I love you. X

You folded the note and put it in the envelope. Goodbye, you wrote on it.

"What are you doing all the way up here?"

You looked up and saw Lando sitting down next to you.

"Just enjoying the quiet before all the loud noises," you chuckled.

"Loud noises? Excuse me. Those are the most beautiful sounds you will ever hear."

You shook your head laughing. "Are you ready for today?"

"Yes. The first weekend of a new season. We're looking strong so far, and I can't wait to be back in the car. It sucks that you have to leave, though."

"I know. I wish it were otherwise, but they need me at work. With my colleague getting into labour earlier than expected, they need me back. But you still have someone to cheer you on here."

"Yeah. She will be here during qualifying, just after you left."

You only nod. Sometimes it seems like it was always planned that way. You rarely saw his girlfriend. If it was intentional or not, it was fine with you. Seeing his girlfriend would only make things harder.

"Let's go back to the garage. I want to say bye to Zak before I leave," you said and got up from the ground. Zak Brown is the CEO of McLaren and also your uncle. Because of him, you and Lando met four years ago. Your friendship hit off right away, and you had your uncle to thank for that. He took you to races with him and even gave you a job as an intern a few years ago.

"Yes, let's do that."

You got up from the grass and started making your way to the garage. The sun was high up in the sky and burned on your skin. "God, I'm going to miss this," you mumbled.

"Next race is in Italy. The weather will probably be good there as well," Lando said.

You only smiled. He had no idea that you weren't going to be there. You weren't going to be at a race any time soon. You had to do this for your good. You were torturing yourself, and you didn't know how much more you could take.

You arrived at the garage, said your goodbye to Zak and then walked to Lando his room. He was talking with his engineer, which gave you the perfect opportunity to leave your letter unnoticed. You swung your bag over your shoulder as you heard a voice behind you.

"What's that?"

You turned around and saw Jon pointing at the letter. "Just something for Lando. He had to talk to his engineer, and I didn't want to bother him, so I wrote him a note. Can you tell him that it's here?"

"Sure. What else has been going on? You seem... distracted."

"It's nothing, Jon. I'll see you later. I have to go to the airport,' you said, and with that, you rushed out of the building. You saw George Russell walking with Charles Leclerc on the paddock. You acted like you didn't see them and ran off the paddock, leaving the Formula 1 scene behind you.
