It was the middle of the night, and you just couldn't sleep. You have been tossing and turning for about three hours now, and you were getting sick of it. Every time you closed your eyes, the image of this afternoon popped back into your head. Your boyfriend, Lando Norris, had a crash during the first free practice of the weekend of Formula 1. It was a minor crash, and he walked away without a scratch, even the car was fine. But you couldn't stop thinking about it. You loved him so much and what happened today, was what you were so scared of. You were so scared that one day, he wasn't getting out of the car. And now, you just couldn't stop thinking about it.

You sighed and grabbed your phone and started to scroll through social media. You saw some funny memes and sent them to Lando. Not shortly after that, you received a text from him.

Lando: What are you still doing up? It's 3.30am...

You: Can ask you the same.

Lando: George and Alex came over. Your turn.

You: Can't sleep.

Lando: want to go for a drive?

You: Yes, please.

Lando: On my way!

You got out of the bed and put on some sweatpants and one of Lando's sweaters. You put your hair in a bun, took your phone off the charger and made your way to the living room, where you put on your shoes. You grabbed your keys and walked downstairs, where you waited for Lando. It was nice that this weekend was at Silverstone. It meant that Lando was close to home and you could see him more. Just as you got downstairs, Lando stopped in front of the building. You opened the passenger door and got in the car.

'Hi,' he looked at you with the biggest smile on his face.

'Hey,' you said.

Lando started the car and drove off. He could see that something was bothering you, but he didn't want to upset you even more by bringing it up, although he had a feeling what it was about. You two drove in silence, and it was nice, but Lando started to get annoyed that he didn't know what was going on.

'Why couldn't you sleep?'

You didn't look at Lando, and you had no idea what to say. You didn't want to upset him, by telling him how much it broke your heart to see him crash. He loves driving. And you don't want to tell him how much you worry about him. 'I don't know. I just...'

'You know you can tell me, right?'

'I know, I just... I don't want to upset you or make you worry or whatever,' you told him.

Lando parked the car and looked at you. 'What's going on?'

'I saw the free practice this morning, and I know you're fine, and the car is fine, but it just broke my heart to see it, because maybe one day, you won't be able to walk away from a crash. You won't come out of that car alive, and I just couldn't stop thinking about that today. It kept replaying in my mind, and I know it was nothing, these things happen all the time. But it was the first time that I have seen you crash like that and I just got so scared. I know it's the risk of your job, but still.'

Lando grabbed your hand. 'I know what you mean. But I am fine, and I am going to be fine for a while. Bad crashed almost don't happen. Yes, a crash can be bad. I could be sore for a while or break a bone, but deadly crashes rarely happen. Nowadays there are so many things that keep us save, like the protective gear we wear, the halo and so many more things. I'll be fine, and I'll continue to be fine, so you have nothing to worry about.'

'I know, but still. I care about you, a lot and I think it just hit me how bad these things can go.'

'I know.'

It was silent for a moment. You yawned, and Lando started to laugh.

'Why don't we go home and just lay until we both fall asleep?' Lando suggested.

'Sounds good to me.'
