Lola's POV

The noise outside my room woke me up, forcing me to flutter my heavy eyes with a deep grunt as my entire body ached so badly, from my head down to my legs. The bed seemed so cold and hard, leaving me wondering how possible that could be. I can't understand why I feel so weak and sore, like someone who was beaten overnight. I tried to recall what was going on, but no information was stored in my head; my brain was literally blank.

I finally opened my eyes after the noise became louder, and that was when I realized I was lying down on the floor and not on my bed. In a rush, I sprung up as my body shivered at the chills that ran through me. My head was banging so hard that I had to rub my temples to ease it.

Why was I sleeping on the floor?

I asked myself the question, allowing my eyes scour the entire room, which I recognized as mine; it was then I sighted the dry clots of blood on my bed and window bars, causing everything to come rushing into my head like a tsunami, wreaking havoc as my feet stumbled back in horror.

The sun had risen, brightening the earth and registering the terrible information in my head. I hurried to the window, which had been left open since yesterday, and peeped up at the sky. I could see it was morning already, and that made my blood run cold as I walked back to my bed.

It was morning then, and that could only mean they would be here soon to take me away to the Alpha for my brutal fate after I saved that vampire.

As I glimpsed at the ring around my finger, I swallowed the huge lump that formed in my throat as I felt immeasurable pain cross my heart, but as much as I hated to see the ring, I also couldn't pull it off.

It is my fate to die as a nitwit, or maybe I made myself a fool again for love.

My door swung open that moment, causing me to swirl and find my parents who were standing right there with their arms folded as they gawked at me.

"They are on their way, the other pack hunters, and guess what? Torian is also coming with them. I don't need to tell you what you'd be going through; you know it yourself, so tell us all that happened and where we can find him, " My father drawled as he left the doorstep and padded in, roaming his eyes and scrutinizing every stain of blood that was in my room.

The mention of Torian froze my body and had me paralyzed as my eyes hurt me so much that I thought they would drop off from their sockets. Why would Torian come with them? Why would he have to meet me in this state?

"It seems you prefer to die for a vampire who doesn't care about you." My mother raised her brows, displaying her teary eyes as she peered at me.

"I don't want to die; I prefer not to die for him, but there is nothing I can do! I've made a mistake, so I'll pay for it. He is gone. He must have gotten to his clan now." I muffled, drying my eyes with the back of my palm as I swallowed more lumps in my throat.

"So you really saved him and made it possible for him to escape from your pack; I mean, you aided an enemy, why? my daughter should be wiser" Dad fumbled, plopping down on the bed.

"I'm sorry; I deserve all the punishment!" I stated with a shrug, looking away from the window and out to the sky, which was brighter now.

"I wish we can save you, but we just can't! The villagers had informed the other pack hunters that the vampire left with his wound healed. That means they already knew you saved him" Dad mumbled under his breath, while mom buried her face inside her palm, sobbing.

"Where is the vampire? Pull him out! We can't believe what we heard!!" The voices of some werewolves from outside broke in , and that forced out more tears from my mother's eyes as she gazed at me. Dad hissed frustratingly and stomped out.
