Chapter 31

- Skips to November 20th - 

Y/N's POV

Today was a day I had not much to do. The house was almost empty but just with the stuff I was keeping mainly. A lot of things were in boxes so the house had an odd echo. We planned on moving by the first of the year but it could be sooner. I just don't know how quickly things will be picked up and driven.

"I think this is going to be nice we got most of the stuff done," Matthew said.

"I know it is kind of weird. I have lived here for so long and now I am going to be renting it out," I said.

"It is going to be a nice way to bring in some money with this kind of investment though," he replied.

"I know," I said as I sat on the couch.

"You look like a sad little puppy," he said sitting beside me.

"I miss Eric. He has been busy so we have not been talking too much you know," I said.

"Well you are doing good holding yourself together," he replied.

"I know but life is kind of crazy because both of our jobs keep us so busy," I said.

"Honestly, you two are very strong as a couple. I know how you feel now," he replied.

"I think I am going to go take a nap and try and dream," I said.

"Alright, you go do that," he replied.

I got off of the couch and went into my bedroom. The room was quiet as it was becoming empty. I took off my shoes and laid down in the bed and got comfortable.

I fell asleep before I knew it.

A few hours went by and I was still asleep.

Meanwhile while I was asleep Eric had showed up and came into the bedroom. He laid in the bed beside me. I was still sleeping until I eventually woke up.

I opened my eyes and saw him laying beside me.

"Good morning sleepyhead," Eric said looking at me.

"Are you actually here?" I asked rubbing my eyes.

"I am actually here baby," Eric said still looking at me.

"Oh my god," I said.

He pulled me into his arms and held me close.

"I missed you so much," Eric commented.

"I missed you too," I said.

"You really thought I was going to miss your birthday tomorrow?" Eric asked.

"I didn't know if you were going to be busy," I said.

"I can take some time off to come be with you," Eric said.

"Mmm, you are too good to me," I said.

"I don't think I am too good to you. I think everything is perfect the way it is," he replied as he kissed my head.

"How has work been going for you?" I asked.

"It has been going okay. There have been talks of Alan wanting to leave the group but," he said.

"How come?" I asked.

"He just feels like being in a "teenage group" is not the kind of thing he thinks he should be doing right now," he replied.

"Oh," I said.

"Yeah, but he is willing to be working behind the scenes of us," he replied.

"Like kind of working with us?" I asked.

"Now you guys are moving into town it could be that way," he replied.

"That is kind of interesting," I said.

"Tell me about it," he replied.

I laid my head on his chest.

"It is crazy how two people can be so close but so far apart," I said.

"I know," he replied playing with my hair.

"I am still surprised you are here," I said.

"You had no idea I would be coming?" he asked.

"No clue at all. I have been so busy with everything and such," I said.

"I know life has been pretty busy for the two of us. Me with work itself and you with work and rearranging your entire life," he replied.

"I would not want it to be any other way though," I said.

"Me neither. You coming to Edinburgh is the most wonderful thing that could have happened," he replied.

"You know I would do anything for you and for us," I said.

"Me too. There is no road I would not take," he said.

"Even the wild ones I am willing to go down as long as we do it together," I said.

"You know how hard it was keeping this a secret?" he asked.

"I can imagine. I was there once," I said with a chuckle.

"Mmm, true. You were and it was quite amazing with such a surprise," he replied.

"Yeah," I said.

"When Matthew opened the door and told me you were in here I was like perfect," he replied.

"Ohh, did Matthew know you were coming?" I asked.

"Of course he did," he replied.

"That makes a lot of sense now I am thinking of it," I said.

"Oh, it does?" he asked.

"Yeah, he had been kind of quiet lately," I said.

"Then he did his job and made the surprise a surprise," he replied.

I looked at him and just admired his features.

"You like looking at me don't you?" he asked looking back at me.

"My favorite thing to do," I said.

He kissed me and I returned the kiss.

"Hehe," he replied.

"I missed those," I said.

"Mmm, okay," he said as he kissed all over my face.

I giggled.

"How do you feel about that?" he asked.

"I think it is cute," I said.

"Mmm, okay good. I will keep it in mind," he replied.

"You're adorable," I said.

"Mmm, you are more adorable though," he replied.

"Noo," I said kissing his nose and smiling at him.

"See that is pure adorable," he said.

"You are pure adorable," I said.

"I will let you win right now but this is only because of your birthday tomorrow," he replied.

"Are we going to be playing one of those games?" I asked.

"Mmm, yes it looks like we are going to be," he said.

"Fine by me then," I said with a chuckle.

"What are your plans for the evening?" he asked.

"I do plan on leaving this spot right now," I said.

"Me neither. This is the only place I could see myself spending the rest of my day," he replied.

"I am just so grateful you showed up here with me," I said.

"I am glad about the timing too," he replied.

I smiled and closed my eyes as he did the same.
