- October 17th 1976 -
Y/N's POV
We had planned out today to go skateboarding with the boys. I have never been too good at skateboarding but the boys said they would teach me how.
"I am not too sure I am even going to be good at this," I said with a chuckle.
"You will do fine," Eric said looking back at me.
"Yeah, you totally got this," Matthew said.
Eric put the skateboard on the ground and looked at me.
"Get on," Eric said.
I stood on the skateboard and looked back at him. He held my hands and smiled at me.
"Now what?" I asked with a chuckle.
"Do this," Matthew said as he showed off skating down the street.
"Oh yeah so easy," I said with a chuckle.
"Okay like this," Eric said pulling me forward.
The skateboard would move forward and I was going down the street with Eric holding my hands.
"This is not too bad," I said with a chuckle.
"Okay, now try it on your own," Eric said as he stopped.
I slowly began to pull back to try and skate myself. I was moving slowly but surely.
"You're doing good," Eric said as he walked alongside me.
"There is no way I am going to be going any quicker than this," I said with a chuckle as I stopped msyelf.
"Okay, let me show you something," Eric said.
Eric and me switched and Eric began to skateboard in front of me.
"I will get there one of these days," I said.
"You will," Eric said.
"Go baby, go baby," I said with a smile.
Eric showed me a couple of tricks he knew how to do.
"You guys are so cool for having balance," I said with a chuckle.
"Watch this," Woody said as he showed off a trick he would do.
"Are you good at skateboarding?" I asked looking over at Alan.
"I can do this," Alan said as he skateboarded down the street.
"Mmmkay, this is going to be a learning process," I said.
"You will get it," Derek said as he walked up behind me.
"You can do this too huh?" I asked.
"Yeah," Derek said.
"I can too," Les said.
"I surely assume between all of you I will learn how to do this good one day," I said.
"Let's keep practicing," Eric commented.
I got back on the board and looked back at Eric.
"Show her something to do," Eric said looking at Les.
Les did something.
"Okay, try that," Eric said.
I tried to do what he did with the help of Eric.
"I feel like after this we should go out and enjoy some ice cream," Matthew said.
"I like how you say go out but we are already out," Derek said with a chuckle.
"Well you know what I mean," Matthew said.
"Right," Alan commented.
The boys all took turns trying to show me the highs and lows of how to be good at the skateboard.
"Okay I think that is enough for today," Eric said.
"I think so too. I got the basics down of how to do the whole thing," I said.
"Not bad for a first time," Woody said.
"True," Ian said.
We headed over to the ice cream shop and headed inside.
"What kind of ice cream are you going to get?" Les asked.
"I am going to get chocolate I think," I said.
"So basic are you," Les said with a chuckle.
"Well you can never go wrong with a basic," I said.
We all picked out our ice cream flavors and sat down in the place to eat.
"I am so glad the ice cream is not melting too quick today," Ian said.
"Yeah, I am glad too," Alan said.
We all enjoyed our ice cream and enjoyed our afternoon together.
"This is such a nice day out," I said.
"It really is," Les said.
"I like that we always get to spend the time together," Eric said.
"Same. It makes me happy to have such a good group of friends like you guys," Matthew said.
"Aww," Derek said.
"It is true. I am so glad you guys came into our lives and especially thanks to you for making Y/N so happy," Matthew said looking at Eric.
"Well I am glad to be in your guys lives too. And Y/N makes me feel so special," Eric said.
"It's nice when someone actually sees you as human and not just some number or fame," Alan said.
"I never thought I could find someone like you," Eric said looking at me.
"I am glad we found each other," I said with a smile.
"Me too," Eric said.
"You guys are what I like to call a power couple," Matthew said.
"I am surprised you never have found another girl after Ava," I said looking back at Matthew.
"She taught me what I did not want in a girl. She was nice at the start but then she turned into someone she never showed in front of anyone," Matthew said.
"Oh, damn that has got to be rough," Alan said.
"It was but I got over it and it has been quite some time since," Matthew said.
"Makes sense," Les said.
"I think it is nice how we are all able to hang out like this," Ian said.
"It always makes me happy when we get to have these days," I said.
"I always wonder what life would be like if we had never met," Matthew said.
"We would not be this far in life. I just think life has changed us in so many ways," I said.
"I am grateful we met you guys. It has been some of the best times of my life," Alan said.
"Same here," Derek said.
"I know life has been kind of crazy since we met but we have been through so much," Matthew said.
"That is true. Life has shown us the highs and lows in life and brought us to be the people we are," Eric said.
"I feel like you have gotten more inspirational," Les said looking at Eric.
"I feel like I have too," Eric said with a chuckle.
"I like this little life of ours," Ian said.
"I know," Matthew said.
"I hate that I am departing from the group soon but it is going to be different for me," Ian said.
"I know it is sad you are leaving but we understand," Derek said.
"Well you guys will have someone else joining in," Ian said.
"I know that is true," Derek commented.
