Christmas Rush

Sadness

That was the only way that could express your feelings at the moment

Your husband Grayson had fallen ill and there was still two days till Christmas Day

You and him had agreed on going back to New Jersey so that your daughter could finally see snow for the first time, but with Grayson being sick, not only did you have to take care of your sick husband, but of your daughter as well and that meant not going to New Jersey

Now it was currently Christmas Eve and Grayson was still sick

"How are you feeling Gray?" You asked as you felt his forehead for a fever

"A lot better after you made that soup earlier" he responded with a raspy voice

"Ok, I'm going to go tuck d/n in and then come back ok?" you asked as you lightly kissed his forehead and left to tuck your little girl away

"Mommy, is dada gonna be ok?" she asked as she climbed onto her bed

"Yea sweetie, he'll be fine, he just doesn't want you to get sick too, good night sweetie" you said as you kissed her forehead and wished her good night

You tiredly walked back to your bedroom with Grayson, flopping onto the bed as you sighed deeply and felt your muscles relax

"Have I told you how much I love you lately?" Grayson whispered as he held you against his chest

"Mmm, no, remind me?" you asked as you turned around to face him

"I love you so much that I have a big surprise for your and d/n tomorrow for Christmas" he said as he kissed your lips and laid his head on yours, whispering good night

The next day, Christmas Day, d/n ran into the room and jumped on Grayson

"Dada! Santa ate the cookies me and mommy made yesterday!" she said excitedly

"Wow sweetie that's great!" he spoke

Early in the morning, you and Grayson had gotten up to eat the cookies, and Grayson had gotten a lot better over the night which was great news

"I wanna open presents now, please, please, please!" she pleaded as she jumped on Graysons chest, earning a groan from him

"O-ok sweetie, let's go" he said as she got on your back for piggy back ride to the living room to open the presents

D/n was very excited when she opened every present

"Look mommy! Santa got me this!"

"Dada look what Santa got me!"

"Ok, my beautiful girls, wait here, I have a surprise for both of you" Grayson said as he ran off

Meanwhile d/n sat on your lap and you started tickling her, her laugh bringing joy to your heart

"Here it is!" he said as he handed you an envelope and d/n a kangaroo plush

You hesitantly opened it and inside were three tickets to go to Australia in three hours

"Grayson! Are you serious?" You asked shocked as he nodded

"We're gonna go see Kristina and Ethan for Christmas! Let's start packing!" He said excitedly as he lifted d/n off the ground, making her laugh and taking her to her room

Grayson and you packed in under an hour and made your way to the airport, singing Christmas songs with d/n

Luckily you both got to the airport so early that you got put in an earlier flight for the same price
