jigyu! for the person who also requested jicheol as well!

prompt: stuck in an airport because the flights were so very delayed and it's like two am

"Oh, the flight's been delayed.." Mingyu sighed as he sank down in the plastic chair. Jihoon took a seat next to the taller after pacing back and forth in the airport hallway. "Sorry you have to wait so long for me to go.." Mingyu apologized as he thought of an idea.

"Hoon! What about you go drive home, it's already two in the morning. I'll manage." He suggested as Jihoon just gazed up at him. Eyes drooping, his eyelids barely holding up as he shook his head.

"No, I'll stay here—" Jihoon interrupted himself, stretching and yawning "with you Mingyu." He rubbed the taller's shoulder. They'd been at the airport since eleven, Mingyu's flight had been delayed for the longest time.

Jihoon didn't expect for Mingyu's flight to be delayed for so long, over and over. But at least he'd get some time with his crush before sending him off to New York.

Jihoon wondered what it was like in New York. It seemed so big, bigger than his studio, than their one bedroom apartment they share as roommates.

Mingyu blushed, glancing away, seeing a family return from their flight as their family gathered around them. Warm, but not for Mingyu. Mingyu preferred being around a few people, not too much. Since he has a tendency to stick around Jihoon and the older likes the quiet.

He laid his head on Jihoon's shoulder, yawning while rubbing his eyes. He was exhausted, Mingyu couldn't wait to get on the plane and sleep.

Jihoon froze up; his body felt like it was a hot seat in a car. Heating up, especially on his shoulder as Mingyu looked so peaceful. He watched Mingyu's expression, so relaxed as he remembered to breathe. Jihoon brought up a hand as he pet Mingyu's hair. His hair was so soft; softer than usual.. Jihoon assumed that Mingyu most likely used his shampoo.

He would usually get mad, but he felt a little disappointed that Mingyu would go. He's only going to New York for six weeks, but he'll miss the guy trailing him around the apartment all day.

Jihoon's stomach roared as he held his stomach to try to quiet it. He should get a snack, he thought to himself as he bunched up his jacket and moved; placing Mingyu's head on his soft jacket gently.

Jihoon lifted himself up, pushing off of his hands as he stumbled towards the vending machines. He saw the dingy light inside of the vending machine, shining dimly on the snacks inside.

What should he get? He wondered as he looked at the candy and other various snacks. Jihoon pressed the buttons for candy bars. Twix and Milky Ways, he like the both of them. He'd probably let Mingyu choose (which he would choose Twix because they are his favorite).

He headed back to where the both of them were sitting. It was almost two twenty. His flight will probably be here soon. Jihoon just sighed, not out of disappointment or relief, just a sigh. Content, maybe? He's not sure. Maybe Loneliness would be the answer.

He watched as the families sat around the plastic seats with their children running around the airport despite it being two in the morning. Jihoon was too caught up in observing the kids giggling to notice Mingyu in front of him.

"Uff!" Jihoon made a sound as he bumped into something or someone. "Sorry, I wasn't—" "Hoon, I thought you left." Mingyu had a somber expression mixed in with exhaustion swirling in his eyes. "I thought you left and I just got, I don't know, so sad." His top lip was tucked into his bottom lip that was jutting out.

Jihoon let out a chuckle. Maybe he felt happy, a little, that Mingyu was worried about him. He leaned towards Mingyu, patting his tussled hair down. "Oh Gyu, I'm here for you, don't worry. I know how scared of being alone you are." Jihoon paused after a moment. I am too. His thoughts came out of the woodworks for a moment.

What if Mingyu leaves and wants to stay in New York? What if Mingyu finds someone there? What if Mingyu forgets about him? What if—

"Hoonie, I know you'll be mad at me, but," Mingyu pulled something from his hoodie pocket, another ticket "I got this for you to come with me." No way. Jihoon's heart almost leaped onto the ticket as he saw it. Mingyu seemed like a shy schoolgirl, getting jittery and covering his pink face.

Jihoon just felt at peace. Like he was laying in an oasis and the sun was simmering around him. Like a teapot bubbling full of steaming water. His feelings were too strong. Happiness. Mingyu. Jihoon felt something in his heart erupt.

"I like you"

Jihoon's eyes almost plopped out of his head. He was panicked. Why? Why did he just say that? His feelings were at it's peak. Junping around in Jihoon's exoskeleton of a body.

"Me too."

Jihoon felt even more surprised as he intently stared at the giggling Mingyu to see if he was joking. No sign. He just saw a blossom-pink Mingyu grinning with his eyes closed.

"Weirdo." Jihoon snickered as he yanked the other into a hug. He grasped onto Mingyu's back, snuggling in the warmth of his shoulder. He couldn't help but think this was a fever dream.

"I didn't forget you're also scared of being alone too, Hoonie" Mingyu gushed into his ear as a murmur. With his ears ignited with pink, he could help but tear up. Jihoon had no idea why he was so emotional. Just Mingyu remembering things about him felt so heartwarming.

That he's important enough for Mingyu to remember things about him.

"Flight 406 is ready to go" The announcer spoke on the intercoms as the two pulled away from the hug and gazed at each other.

They encased their hands together as Mingyu rolled his luggage across the tiles. "Wait, what about my luggage?" Jihoon questioned with his eyebrows ready to tense up with concern.

"Oh, I brought them with me." Mingyu cheekily smiled as he pointed to the way his luggage was bulkier than normal.

Jihoon let out a laugh. "Wait wait, then you would've taken six weeks of my clothes to New York with you, without me?"

"Kind of, I wanted you to come with me, but I couldn't find the right time. Plus of course, I would wear them! Clothes are clothes."

Jihoon felt warmth buzzing in his soul. "That's cute-wait! Then you would've spent over a thousand dollars for no reason if I didn't come?"

"No! Well, maybe.." Mingyu cautiously watched Jihoon's expression turn to him rolling his eyes and punching Mingyu on the shoulder lightly.

"You punk, you're too sweet."

"But you like it!" Mingyu stuck out his tongue like a child as he let go off his hand and dashed off to the loading area where the airplane was.

"Hey!" Jihoon shouted and chased after him.

Jihoon caught up to the very animated Mingyu, who was waiting for him. He couldn't help but feel the urge to kiss him.

He strolled to Mingyu as he pressed his lips on the other's. Jihoon could feel Mingyu's lips morphing into a smiling as they kissed. He felt toasty, like Mingyu was his solution to the cold.
