Some time had passed and Shiro immediately noticed that Castoria lost consciousness.

'She should be better after this.' He thought. 'My situation took a heavy toll on her. I'm a bad husband...'

In the past, it was too late when Fenrir had discovered the true dangers that [The Root] had posed to them. He thought that he got it under complete control as he didn't lose control anymore when he stepped into the <Paragon Realm>, the term that Fenrir had used for the Beyond Creator realm.

Anyways, the main reason why it posed such a huge problem is that... the portion of [The Root] became corrupted. Though, it's not caused by an external factor, but its internal mechanisms instead.

Long story short, the previous Fenrir evolved his [Devouring] concept beyond the limit. Just as he was about to destroy the hated Nine Realms, he was banished outside their world using [Gleipnir], a conceptual weapon used to bind and expel its target.

The previous Fenrir was determined to take its revenge, so it did the unthinkable—devour the origin of all things itself.

Through his sheer luck, he was able to bite off a part of [The Root] itself. However, this portion fought back with its instinct, to avoid being devoured. In the end, it didn't succeed and only took down the previous Fenrir.

Still, this danger was carried over when Fenrir got his corpse, which included [The Root] itself. He devoured the corpse step-by-step, without knowing that he would become a potential reality destroyer in the future.

Fenrir would lose control and indiscriminately seek to destroy everything until reality itself is destroyed.

If they'd let it be, he and the Supreme Magus, the two <Paragon Realm> in their universe, are bound to perish. To top it off, there's an extremely slim chance of their world surviving even with the support of a few wills from other worlds.

This would lead to the other worlds fighting off the berserk Fenrir.

'We saw that horrendous possibility, so we thought that this is the only choice left.'

Fortunately, they knew about their past when they became a <Creator God>. This led to the possibility of them converging back into one and defeating the 'corrupted' portion of [The Root].

"Sigh..."

Seeing her sleep so peacefully, Shiro resolved the guilt in his heart before he sat down and gently placed her head in his lap.

"This should clear off her mental state."

In fact, gods are still affected by their inner self, mainly their mental states. In some worlds, there are even gods who use "anchors", whom are also their believers, for them to not lose their sense of "self" and turn into a crazy god.

Though, the gods in most worlds don't have this risk as they had ascended together with their aspect of mind. In Shiro's world, the ascension of mind, body, and soul is needed to become an Ascendant God. If one hasn't completed this, their ascension won't be a proper one.

They would be able to fight against other gods, but there's a risk of them having a fatal weakness. Magicians in Fate are one such example.

While their life level is elevated, granting their physical bodies immortality through the integration of body and soul, there's a risk of them dying out of a god's attack. If they have Shiro's power system, then this weakness of their would also disappear.

They would become a formidable <Creator God> level enemy at that rate.

Although, they are a <Creator God> with fatal weaknesses without it. Hence, the reason why the Third Magician died; and why Zelretch was turned into a Dead Apostle by [The Moon] in some parallel worlds.
