Chapter 25: The House on the Hill

As clouds covered the sky and lightning struck down, a boy ran through a forest, he seemed like he was looking for someone. His worried expression completely changed when he had found whom he was looking for. The boy who seemed to be in his twenties, sighed in relief.

His dark brown hair moved as a strong wind hit him and the girl he was looking for. The girl, who was also in her twenties at the time, stood up from the ground, a bunch of sticks laid around her. Her light blue eyes sparkled as she saw who had appeared.

She walked over to him as he told her that they need to find a place to stay since they weren't close to home. She mentioned that she saw a lonely house not too far from where they were. She also mentioned how it was possible that someone might be there to help.

The boy immediately agreed and grabbed her up. He carried her on his back and ran as fast as he could, she held onto him tightly as to not fall off. The girl screamed out the boy's name as she felt they were in danger the boy stopped.

?: ELIAS!

Lightning struck in front of them as soon as he stopped.

Elias: Nichi...how did you...?

Nichi: We'll talk later, keep going.

He nodded and started running towards where she pointed. The leaves and drops of water were hitting them relentlessly. They arrived in front of a house a few minutes later. Lightning struck the forest and lit a fire which was immediately dissipated for an unknown reason.

Before they even knocked on the door, a man opened it. As another gust of wind blew, the man's white hair moved back. He put his hand forward and the wind stopped bothering them. His left eye turned pink, and he invited them in with a smile.

As they walked in, Nichi and Elias saw two others inside. He told them to wait right there and with the snap of a finger created what seemed to be a hole to another place in front of him. As the man walked through and started speaking with a girl, Nichi and Elias looked at each other confused. The man and the girl stepped back through the hole and over to them.

?: Elias, Nichi, welcome. You two can stay as long as you need.

The two were confused on how he knew their name, Elias looked closely and noticed his eye color was different from before, instead of a yellow it was now bright pink.

?: Don't worry. I know who you are because of a power. I'm not stalking you kids. My name is Kenos, you can call me Ken for short. This here is Yuzui.

The girl next to him smiled and waved at them.

Elias: Nice to meet you, and thanks for the help but, what kind of power do you have?

Kenos: Let's just say I'm a jack of all trades. Oh, I forgot to mention, over here are Nahe and Acheron. They're here cause well, big ol' thunderstorm outside.

A boy around 15 years of age waved hello from the sofa. He used his hand to move aside his light blue hair as he continued using his phone. The other boy with brown hair was fast asleep on a mattress that was on the floor.

Kenos: So anyway, are you all hungry? I made some lasagna earlier and there's quite a bit left.

Nichi: I would like some.

Elias: Not gonna lie, me too. I'm starving after being outside all day.

Yuzui: I'll serve them the food, go do the thing you were gonna do.
