Chapter 6: Dreams and Destiny

Lykos awoke in a dark room once again, this time he was alone. He tried calling out to anyone who could help but only one voice responded.

Lykos: You...

He looked back to see a person that looked just like him. The only difference being that his hair was black, and he wore no glasses.

Argos: Do you finally need me?

Lykos: I'd rather die than ask for your help. Especially after what you did.

Argos: Shut up man, I don't plan to die along with you.

A light filled the room and Argos had a weapon in his hand, it was an axe.

Lykos: Where'd you...

Suddenly a green light engulfed Lykos' right hand and out of thin air, an axe was made as well. Once he saw the axe, he had a flashback to the nightmare he had. "I won't let you lay a finger on my friends!" he yelled, trying to hit something. He snapped back to what he was doing.

Argos: Did you forget you had this?

Lykos: Huh?

Argos pointed towards the scar he had under his eye.

Argos: Don't you remember all those years ago? Lorides really did mess with your head back then...

Lykos: Wha-

Lykos' vision started getting blurry, and he started hearing a voice in his head. "Wake up, we have got to get out of here." she called out.

Lykos: Ale?

Lykos had woken up to Alepou telling him to move.

Lykos: What's going on?

Alepou: Here, take your bag. We have to go!

Lykos stood up confused still in a rush. The two went outside and saw the amount of Harpy in the air.

Alepou: What's the plan?

Volk: You six get out of here, me and Inu will take care of this.

Okami: I'll stay. Inu, hand me a gauntlet.

Inu took one of his gauntlets off and gave it to Okami. He put it on and stretched his arm.

Volk: Alright then...the rest of you have to leave the area.

The rest of the group nodded in agreement and turned back.

Lykos: I'll stay.

Alepou: WHAT? WHY?

Lykos: Just trust me.

Alepou: But you don't have a-

Inu: Let him stay.

A green light filled Lykos' hand and an axe appeared once more. Alepou looked at Lykos worried, he gave her a forced smile and told her to go. She started to run back and caught up with the rest of the group. "There you go." Argos spoke, in the back of Lykos' head.

Lykos: What's the plan?

Inu: Okami has a longer range than the rest of us he'll have to take the higher ones...Volk, protect him at all costs. Lykos, you and I will take down the ones closest to us.

The 4 of them agreed and the harpies approached. Lykos looked at the axe and grabbed it tight, he had another flashback from the nightmare. "Alright, let's pin it down!" Lykos threw one of his axes at something, it managed to knock it down.

He snapped back to the situation and thought of an idea. Okami stretched his arms out to punch down the harpies that were approaching. Lykos went over to finish off the ones that were on the ground while Inu stayed by Okami and Volk's side to protect him. Volk threw his shield up at the harpies, it ricocheted off 5 of them and went back to his hands. Lykos saw this and tried doing the same, he threw his axe, and it ricocheted off 3 harpies and came back to his hand.

Okami: You know...I could knock them down faster with two gauntlets.

Inu: I need to defend myself you know.

Inu jumped over Volk and punched a harpy that was gonna hit Volk.

Volk: Thanks.

Volk threw the shield once again, Lykos did the same with his axe. They ricocheted off harpies and on their way back clashed and formed a shockwave that knocked a lot of harpies down.

Volk and Lykos: Whoa.

The Telums came back to them, they decided to target the ones on the floor. Okami kept knocking them down, the harpies decided to target his arm. They flew down and scratched Okami's arm. He flinched and stopped stretching his arm, he grabbed his arm in pain.

Okami: Fuck that hurts! I don't think I can knock them down anymore.

Lykos and Volk had finished taking down as many as they could. They looked back to see Okami with his arm hurt.

Volk: Well I might have an idea...Lykos, can you handle that axe well?

Lykos: Not really...

Volk: Good enough...listen...I'm gonna throw you up there, and you take them out.

Lykos: I SAID NOT REALLY!

Volk: Trust me.

Volk grabbed Lykos by the arm and held him up afterwards.

Volk: Ready?

Lykos: NO!

Volk: Yeah, you are.

Volk threw Lykos up in the air by 45 meters, once he was at his highest, he threw his axe which ricocheted off the harpies.

Volk: CATCH!

Volk threw his shield up towards Lykos, he didn't know what to do with it but quickly thought of something. He used the shield to do a second jump in the air. Once he was a bit higher, Lykos threw the axe at the shield to create that shockwave from before. Once the weapons clashed, the shockwave was created and all the remaining harpies started falling down.

Lykos grabbed his axe and threw it towards the falling harpies. He used one of the falling harpies to break his fall. Once on the ground, Lykos, Volk, and Inu rushed to take down all the ones on the floor. Once they finished, they all sat down near the house, tired.

Volk: So...we gotta find the others now.

Inu: They're not that far...

Lykos: We should rest for a second...

Okami: Or find something for my arm.

Lykos had another flashback. "This light...it's like last time..." he felt refreshed.

Lykos: Wait...I think I got something for you.

He put his hand over Okami's arm and healed it completely.

Okami: Whoa, that's a handy ability.

Lykos: Haha, thanks.

"At least the dream is helpful for something. Although, did I always have this or was it cause of that weird orb...?" Lykos thought to himself, staring at his hands.

Lykos: Let's go with the others...
