You tuned back into consciousness from the sound of your alarm, it's cheerful rhythm only making you scowl. You jerked your head, trying to get your hair out of your face without your hands as you reached beside you for your phone.

You turned it off with a swift swipe before settling back down. Wanting for the first time ever to sleep in a little longer.

Ghost was on his stomach, his turned head resting on your shoulder as you felt his soft exhales on your neck. He had an arm underneath you while you slept on your back, making you wonder if it was numb from you sleeping on it.

His fingers holding your waist on the other side, he had his other hand lightly on one of your thighs, his fingertips folding over the curve and resting on the inner skin, his warmth against yours.

Your eyelids had an orange hue to them, the early morning sun shining in through the thin curtains. You felt his fingers twitch slightly, digging into you for a second as his body was pulled from a sleep void.

His arm tensed underneath you and you opened your eyes, knowing he was awake. He shifted, catching your eyes and pausing.

He lifted his head and looked past you at your alarm clock on the bedside table before his eyes set back on you. He lowered his head back to the pillow, "How long did I sleep?" he asked clearing his throat.

He'd slept for hours straight, his voice laced with sleep and his throat sounding dry as his words came out deep and raspy, he cleared his throat in attempt to wash it away. "Around 17 hours" you said.

"Bloody 'ell" he muttered, his voice still a low husk as he shifted. He moved closer with his stirring, finding the small spot in the pillow he'd made while he slept.

His hand on your thigh shifted up, unbothered as it hitched your pajama shorts up. His fingers resting on the fold of your hips as he closed his eyes again.

"Everything okay..?" you asked slowly, watching as he got comfortable again.

He hummed, with a small nod. "Yeah, .. I just hate odd numbers like 17, .. guess it's an OCD thing" he muttered, his inhales slow and exhales quiet.

"Yeah yeah." Ghost mutters, his voice still coated with thick sleep. "Mhm.. better, yeah" he rasps as you open your eyes.

You feel overheated this time around, confused and dazed as you make yourself sit up. Your limbs shake slightly, not fully awake and feeling weak.

You see Soap at the door, holding something. You can feel the sleep in the corner of your eyes, and you rub at them, your eyelashes blurring your vison. "Wow, you're a beauty in the morning huh rookie?" Soap chuckles.

You scowl, blinking away the tiredness and setting your eyes on him and the room. The streaks of sun that splash across the walls is a lot brighter than orange like it was at sunrise. Your eyes shift to Ghost.

He sits on the edge of the bed, rubbing his face with a hand under his mask. His voice gruff and still waking up. "Good sleep Lt?" Soap chuckles as Ghost grunts in reply.

"You know it was going to be Keegan coming to get you, we knew you were here Lt but just wanted to check in with rookie" he smiles, leaning on the doorframe with his shoulder.

"That would've ruined my morning" Ghost mutters, standing up and stretching by tensing his muscles and broadening his shoulders.

"Mm well, lucky it was me then" he shrugs.

You shuffle to the edge of the bed, looking over your shoulder and catching a glimpse of yourself in the mirror. You didn't look that horrible, but there was a subtle 'I took a nap' look to your gaze.
