You tensed immediately, trying to keep your emotions from showing through your eyes. You could feel your heartbeat in every vein and not in a good way. Your breathing became shallow and sharp as you made eye contact.

"Oh Rookie, hey." Soap said with a smile, his tone breezy and his obvious cut off from the greeting prior due to the fact of your presence. Never had you been so relieved to have a desk in front of you.

You stared for a second, the only thing bringing you out of the trance was the light and almost unnoticeable bounce from Ghost as you sat on his lap. "Soap- hi." you said quickly, mustering a smile.

"Something you need Johnny?" Ghost said before clearing his throat. You kept still, aware that his fingers were still inside you.

"Yeah, captain asked me to deliver thes-" Soap paused, the way he stopped talking kickstarting your heart into overdrive.

"Continue on Johnny boy." Ghost said.

"Wow LT you never let me sit in your lap." Soap replied, a smile lit your face, and he returned it after hearing the exasperated sigh from Ghost. "Anyways, he asked for a specific structure here." Soap went on, flipping through the papers.

Your breath caught as he started walking forwards, his focus on the files as Ghost cleared his throat loudly. "Johnny." he said sharply, catching Soaps attention straight away.

"Hm?" he hummed, his eyes flicking back and forth between the two of you.

"I'll figure it out, I'm trying to help rook out with hers, yeah?" he said, shifting himself underneath you making your lips press together as his other hand gave an encouraging squeeze to your waist.

Soaps body language slackened for a second, his eyes showing the focus on his face as he took the full image of you both into consideration. Soap had never been the best at hiding his emotions, they displayed with painful clarity on his face.

He was still for a moment more and you could hear your heartbeat in your ears before he let out a breathy noise of realization, a soft, "..oh" from his lips that failed to hide a small smile.

"Well .. I wanted to look these over myself." Soap says, holding up the papers and taking a slight step back before turning around.

You watched as he closed the distance between him and the door quickly, his hand lingering on the handle for a moment too long. You heard the inevitable click of him turning the lock before stepping out into the hall and letting the door shut.

A few seconds of silence ticked by before you heard a soft chuckle from Ghost behind you. You scowled, turning your head to glare at him which he returned with a smile evident in the way his eyes creased slightly.

"Ghost that wasn't funny." you grunt, grabbing his wrist and prying his hands from you.

"Hey, you're the one who didn't lock the door." he says with a chuckle on his lips, deepening your scowl.

"How was I supposed to know this is what we'd be doing hm?" you mutter back, standing up from his lap with him in tow, standing with you as you grab your gear from the floor.

You hear him give a playful sigh, reaching out to grab your waist, stopping you from going anywhere. "Okay .. that's my fault, it's not funny but we can really just do the work now if that's what you want sweetheart."

You escape his grip on your waist and walk towards the door, sliding your vest over your head and folding your jacket over your arm as you shake your head. "Maybe I'll just ask Gaz for help." you say.

You hear him following you towards the door with a dismissive hum of carelessness. "Go for it then." he says. You look over your shoulder at him as his gives a soft shrug.
