You signed back to Ghost as you both crouched on either side of the double doors. They were a worn-out blue with rusty edges, making the hinges audible. You were waiting on countdown, the team already set into position.

Prices voice was loud and clear in your ear as he marked the 30 second point. You did a triple check of your gear, counting mags and gadgets. Holding a smoke canister in your left hand, pin visible and facing closet to you.

On the five second mark you and Ghost switched channels on comms and he held up three fingers on his free hand, you watched as one by one they went down on the last you both stood up in sync.

With guns tucked under arms you both mirrored each other, all the planning and training over the past days leading to this. You bent your leg at the knee, putting all your weight into the heel of your boot as you kicked open the door.

Echos sounded all around, not only you and Ghost but the rest of the team at other entrances. The rusty hinges weak at the force of strength, you brought the canister up as your boot connected with the door, pulling the pin with your teeth.

On release, the door was open and both you and Ghost threw the smoke grenades, aiming down sight as the room filled with white clouds of thick fog. You flipped down your thermo scope, peeking through as you crouch walked left.

Ghost went right, the enemies rushing towards the door highlighted in red as you shot them down, hidden in the cover of smoke. The piece of equipment using the body heat to sight out living creatures and highlighting them.

You were fast, giving a quick shot to the chest or head as you kept moving, that was the missions main rule. Don't linger in a place to long and keep advancing or you'll get cornered, you felt the muscles in your calf's tense with each step, holding your weight.

The hallway cleared of red figures, and you stood straight, back against wall as you flipped your mic down. "Hallway on left is cleared sir, next orders?" you spoke, bringing your gun up and peering through your scope to double check.

"Hold position, I'm crossing over." Ghost came through, you took your orders seriously. Missions were a game of life and death; a small mistake could kill you or a teammate and you wouldn't risk it unless you knew you could.

The smoke was starting the thin, surroundings coming to surface as you looked around. Ghost was quick to reach you and you both got into position following down the halls. The base got darker as you went along, no windows to allow light.

The place was humid with moist air, damp walls and distant drips of water. There was commotion all around, gunshots in the background as you followed Ghost's step. His eyes focused, a darkness to them that hid a human underneath.

He turned at a large opening, signing towards the steel stairs as you nodded. They were narrow, leading up to hidden halls that hid rooms of secrets. Tarpaulins covered large stacks of cargo; shipping containers towered on top of each other.

There was black sludge on the walls, copper colored water running down in streams over the jagged parts of the concrete enclosure. Cracks ran along the floors, sprouting weeds and moss covering foggy windows, unable to see in or out.

Your boots sounded in time with Ghost's as he led, gun aimed high, stance ready for action and his senses alert. He had an admirable work ethic; all it took was a glance and you could tell he was good at what he did.

You switched your gun from burst, hitting the stock of your rifle and checking you bullet count. Too low, you tossed the mag onto the floor, hearing it slide across and hit a wall before you popped another in.
