Chapter 16: Set the Rules

"And so, the time of legends is upon us. Each player among you all have chosen to step forth into the darkness. Now the rules of the event shall be explained. However, first there is one thing that must be adjusted."

As Rin Maurus spoke, I saw what I thought was a glitch, as if static and faulty code disrupted the flow of the game.

In a server that held a number this large it wasn't unexpected. Though I couldn't help but feel a bit apprehensive.

Maybe it was just my nerves.

"It has been adjusted. Now if you will each take a look at your avatar profile screen you will notice something has been adjusted."

I was confused at first by the request, but it immediately made sense.

From all around the area players began to make an uproar; shouting and swearing at what had just took place.

"What is this?", "what did you do!?", "what's happening?", "how could you?", "why are you doing this!?", "give it all back!?", "do you know how hard I worked for that!?"

"I'm sure you've all noticed by now; this is the first rule that must be established."
