Chapter 121: Wailing Howls III

Xuelian and I squared off against the beast, we drew our weapons. Xuelian stood in front to block the attacks.

The [black dog] roared loudly and jumped in striking at us with its claws and fangs.

I dodged out of the way while Xuelian raised her shield to block the attacks. She guarded while I came around and attacked drawing the «aggro» of the beast away from her.

Then while the beast had its attention on me, I dodged the blows while Xuelian went behind and attacked attempting to draw the monster's attention back to herself.

We repeated this for a few minutes until the dog howled loudly; an unseen force pushed us back and stunned us for a few moments.

Before we had a chance to recover the dog turned to me and pounced knocking me down. It pinned me to the ground. It's eyes focused on me, Smog spewing from its mouth with every breath; fangs ready to rip me apart.

All I could think was...

I'm done for.
