We brandished our weapons and turned back-to-back keeping Holly, the «NPC» between us.
We prepared ourselves mentally. Breathing deeply, I calmed myself, relaxing my mind. If there was one thing I had to do now, it was trusting my back to her, to Xuelian.
"You've got my back, right?" I asked.
"Yeah, you've got mine right?"
"Absolutely!"
Suddenly felt determination well up inside of me. The two of us can do this.
The Kobolds howled then charged at us. Our usual strategy wouldn't work here. I would have to hold my own. I was at a disadvantage with a short sword.
I made a motion as if to sheath my sword.
"Switch set."
My usual short sword was swapped out for a knight's long sword.
"Come at me, you beasts!"
