Turning I saw a man sitting by a tree, he was in armor cloaked by the shade of a tree.
"You have died. This place is a covering for the soul, and your soul is exposed. The moment you leave the Crystal's protection the miasma of this land will eat at your soul. Only the covering of another soul can protect your own."
I stood there frozen. I recalled Rin Maurus's words about death and about the soul protection. I recalled the pain I suffered during the fight and the moment I died. When I leave here, I will have to track down a monster, kill it and take its soul to protect my own.
"Adventurer there is something I must tell you."
I looked up at the person sitting by the tree.
