Chapter 98: A Cry for Help

"Tsubasa what was that?!"

"Not sure, Let's go!"

Xuelian replied with a nod. The two off us to took off into the forest. We tried to move as fast as we could even though our low levels prevented quick movement.

Soon we came across a young girl surrounded by [Kobolds].

They appeared to be small goblins like creatures with lizard like features. They wore light ragged clothing, carried clubs, axes and knives. Each weapon looked oversized in their hands, each of their weapons were dull and rusted.

Xuelian and I jumped in between the girl and the Kobolds.

Xuelian charged in first using her shield and spear; she pushed them back and away from the girl. Meanwhile I ran up and struck, making a few hits before falling back behind Xuelian's Shield.

We did this cycle a few times before the last of the monsters was slain. For each kill we got one «Qiu», though the person who did the killing blow get an extra gem.

From the monsters we got a few item drops. «Fang of Kobold» a rare monster drop.

We turned around looking at the girl.

"Is she a...?"

"«NPC», yeah I think so."
