Chapter 149: The Hidden Path

"So, this is the shortcut."

"Let's get going, Tsubasa."

We walked down the path into the hidden shortcut. The shortcut took us past the boss, though it seemed like this 'shortcut' was the longer path.

The path had us zigzag around the boss. Through a break in the trees, we could see the boss [The Flare Eyes] guarding those enormous doors. I couldn't help but wonder, what was behind those doors.

An hour later we finally arrived in front of the entrance to the first area. Throughout the path there was a few monsters that we ran up against. At our current level none could stand up against us or were even a threat. We cut down any that dared approach us.

We stood before the entrance of the first area. Memories of two months ago when we first came here flooded my mind. The speech of Rin Maurus still rang clearly in my ears.

I felt a tap on my shoulder that brought me back to reality.

"Tsubasa, you ok?"

"Oh yeah I'm fine just thinking. You ready?"

"Yeah," Xuelian replied with a nod.

We both took the step through the entrance.
