Chapter 49: An Ally?

"Hey you're Song XueLian right? Nice seeing you again," I waved to her, approaching slowly. She looked up at me, she nodded acknowledging my presence.

I felt like I may have been acting overly familiar with someone I hardly knew.

"You are Tsubasa Emrys."

"Yeah, glad you remember," I say with an awkward smile.

She nodded again, this time with a faint smile. I sat down next to her; instinctively I keep a sizable space between us.

We talked for a bit discussing our experiences thus far. She had managed to make it the entire way without dying. She had been experimenting with her equipment trying to come up with some plan of to get stronger.

I thought to myself, 'strength is what is need right now. I can't lose not again.'

She called to me. I snapped out of my deep thought. She then asked me a question that had taken me by surprise.

"If we both expect to survive this, we'll need a benefactor, would you consider teaming up with me?"

"What?"

I was at a complete loss for words.
