Chapter 74: The Fallen Warrior

Picking up the gem in hand I glanced towards the area where the wall had caved in.

I wanted to see who it was that helped me.

I stepped forward peering into the shadows letting my eyes adjust to the darkness. What I saw in the rubble defied my expectations and belief.

Amongst the stone and brick was the remains of a being that resembled a human but was oddly different in some way not easily put into words. It was as if he seemed to glow or radiate some unseen force.

Yet what was obvious was the fact that all that remained was the dusty cobweb covered bones of this fallen warrior.

Looking at the remains all I could do was reaffirm the promise I made to myself. I promised that I wouldn't give into despair and lose my way.

I will make it out alive.
