"Now for the next rule, if you will each take look at the lower right corner of your «H.U.D.» Heads Up Display, you will notice a number."

I glanced downward to where Rin said. I saw a number that read 300s.

"Pay special attention to that number, for those are your [Soul Points]. If you are slain in battle that number will be reduced by fifteen. For those that are good at math that would allow up to twenty times of death. If that number reaches zero your soul will disappear. However, there is a catch. Above the number should be a small symbol."

As Rin had said there was over the number a small symbol resembling a flame or rather a soul.

"That mark represents protection for your soul. Should you die that protection will break, the moment you leave the safety of a town or crystal well your soul points will disappear every second, until it reaches zero.

Yet fret not adventures for there is one way to save yourself, slay a monster and use its special soul to protect yourself.

Now there are a few more rules left to explain."
